I thought Moneyball was about guys who weren't big stars on big coin, but would complement the other guys

Moneyball is a system based purely on statiscs...let say Joe Blogs is an average midfielder with 0.5 goals per game, BUT in games vs. teams who have an 80% win ratio he scored 3 goals AVG, you'd draft or trade for him and he'd play only in games against these type teams.

The whole team is constructed thusly.. .no 'permanent starting 22" but a rotation of players based on their ability to perform in certain games against certain teams ( e.g. Kent always had his best game of the season against Demons ....so why'd he see it out?)

I doubt he will leave the Pies and I dont believe he is the super star the media make him out to be. But if he did want to come across you would have to look at it and make sure there are plenty of 'behavioural' clauses in his contract. The other concern is what message recruiting him would send to other players at the club - you would want the entire club & playing group onside before signing him.,

Agree it just highlights what a fwyt this guy is. His manager is out there trying to get him a pay rise and he is off mid season holidaying in Bali acting inappropriately towards women again.
