Another in the room.
Back in Richo's day, there were games lost through multiple misses.
Power game in 2017 where Acres had a chance to put us in front.
In 2018 or 2019 with Skunk going several weeks where he couldn't hit the side of a barn, then in Perth he snagged 5 IIRC (I was at that game) and he had turned the corner.
Richo used to mention in pressers how disappointed the guys were in themselves, how all their hard work was wasted. He seemed to live in hope that they would take care of the little things and the accuracy would come.
Fast forward to 2021, Higgins kicking 1.6 or whatever.
Other games where we would have been much closer if we were accurate.
Then this year, Power game, arguably Round One we could have beaten the Filth too...
How about Skunk having a set shot touched by a fingernail, from 20m in front.
It's such a St Kilda thing to happen.
WTF whatever the club is doing, it ain't bloody working.
It's distressing.

no more elephants please.
I've noticed other clubs battling with the issue as well but yeah it makes you wonder what they do at Prac..

When our players had missed set shot in the last quarter, I saw the cameras pan to Ratts in the coaches box several timesThe Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 14 May 2022 12:04pm no more elephants please.

He wasn't happy. Each time he had a look on his face that gave me the impression he's had enough of it.
The anxiety and the pressure is one factor and I suppose fatigue can also play a role
Concentrate on the process and the result will take care of itself
I reckon he's going to demand that this area of our game gets fixed...or at least he'll encourage players and provide support

Re: Accuracy in front of goal
When Ryder retires, the club should retain him as a goal kicking coach. I can hardly recall him missing a set shot.

Problem is our 3 most important forwards are all suspect at set shot goal kicking..King, Higgins and Membrey.
It’s an above the shoulders thing, so not sure what the solution is.
They do a fair bit of work on it at training but there’s no pressure with that.
Membrey and King both have fluent kicking actions, so it’s not a technical thing…purely mental/ confidence!
