Saints reportedly interested in Rory Lobb

Obviously we will have cap to spend, but I would rather look at other options than Lobb. When he is on he would be a good side kick for Max, but he just doesnt perform consistently enough for me. Plus our trading history with Fremantle is questionable.

Not a ruckman, can pinch hit in the ruck at best.
Average key forward.
Not a pack bust open or real hard working grunt player.
Not a lead up player either so likely to crowd King.
Would have to cost very little to get him.
Would rather a young ruck in tandem with Heath or to bring McEvoy home for a season if he is fit and healthy if Paddy retires and we are looking for a mature ruckman. Draper would have been a great get and well identified by the Saints when we targeted him, perhaps Xerri.

Lobb is well named, he's certainly not a smash, serve or winner!

Wasn't it two or three years ago that he took one of the most courageous marks of all time?

You wouldn't even get Billie Jean King with that package.groupie1 wrote: ↑Sat 07 May 2022 7:31amBuilt like Tarzan, plays like Jane.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Wed 04 May 2022 11:50am https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-tr ... dacfce0cc4

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

If the rumours are correct, the guy we are hopefully focusing on for 2023 is Karl Amon. He's a skilled playmaker: just what we need.

Amon was excellent again last night. Great mover, sure hands and an excellent kick.meher baba wrote: ↑Sat 07 May 2022 12:47pm If the rumours are correct, the guy we are hopefully focusing on for 2023 is Karl Amon. He's a skilled playmaker: just what we need.

Yep spot on saynta we are slowly but surely getting elite ball users not just inside mid's & Amon would be a great get NWM is just pure class so glad we picked him up & Windy & Owens are very handy too . I know the jury is still out but we have some real special talent in our development group which is credit to our recruiting staff IMO anywaysaynta wrote: ↑Sat 07 May 2022 1:21pmAmon was excellent again last night. I have just been advised that Amon has agreed to $650k by 3 years with triggers for a fourth.

Re: Saints reportedly interested in Rory Lobb
Yep, early days but I'm rapt with how all our recent draftees are going. I know nwm is getting a lot of love but I really think Windy has got something special about him as well. Got the classic build to become that explosive type midfielder who could go forward and kick a few.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sat 07 May 2022 9:48pmYep spot on saynta we are slowly but surely getting elite ball users not just inside mid's & Amon would be a great get NWM is just pure class so glad we picked him up & Windy & Owens are very handy too . Well done by Port to re-sign him.
