Re: First Quarter
Howard’s decision in the last minute to stop chasing Gray and head for the goal square was bizarre
He ran away from the play???
Not sure wtf he was thinking?!

Re: First Quarter
Seb had a great game so don’t start talking crap. Here’s what you posted when you started this thread
I responded to what you posted and analysed how/why it happened. You were right. The warning signs were there! To me, the warning signs were there Q1
16 inside fifties to 4 and had a 12 point lead
Dominated around the ground, contested ball, territory and continually bombed the ball in with NO system and generally just kicked it to Aliir or on top of Max’s head to so Clurey could just out body him.
I think Steele and Seb were just as bad as each other as far as bombing it in. That is a leadership issue and they just need to both own it..as do the coaches because there was several other players bombing it in…although I doubt the coaches were saying ‘kick it to Aliir’

Re: First Quarter
In all likelihood they were
Membrey did it, Paton did it. Gresham bombed it in twice. Seb twice. This is all in that first bloody quarter!!
Then in the last 6 minutes in that first quarter the other culprits bombing it in were Sinclair, Higgins, Howard, Wilkie, Long and NWM. None of these kicks I highlighted resulted in goals. Count them. That’s 12 x i50’s and a lot of effort up the ground for zilch
Probably 6 or 7 out of ten times that would work on a wet track but it didn’t on Saturday. I feel really bad for the players who all basically busted their arses up in that humidity
Our on field leaders and senior players still need to take ownership. Sure the game plan in the wet was to move it forward and take territory and put the footy in a dangerous position, but we have to get better at lowering our eyes and looking for a leading target…or slowing down and switching the play. I get annoyed when players have time and space and waste the i50 opportunity.
Surely as a player you can’t keep doing it if the end result means your team isn’t scoring.

Re: First Quarter
I said Seb played well, and it was other leaders who let us down.B.M wrote: ↑Mon 02 May 2022 6:13pm Must be all Sebs fault that we lost
He only had 31 and was probably our best?!
Great logic
Not sure how many here have played footy… but not every decision you make or disposal is what you want it to be… that’s footy.
Are we saying EVERY one of Sebs 31 disposals were poor?!
Because that’s not what I saw!!!
And
Must somehow be Richo’s fault we lost?!
That’s even more stupid!!!
Was also just noting that this is what it looks like when Seb is out best player.
Others need to lift.

Re: First Quarter
No
He just makes dumb choices
Like when he played on in the back pocket when there was no option

He played on
He was hoping to run around the man on the mark but f***ed it up!
If there are no outlet kick, you go long down the line… he put himself under the hammer

Re: First Quarter
Because he did
He ran off the line
He put himself under pressure and f***ed up
Nothing to do with the umpires

Re: First Quarter
Yep, he'd previously done the half paced side step when playing on from a kick in and appeared to think Marshall would fall for the same play again.
