Sandy v Frankston
Half time. Lot of saints players doing well. Good lead to Sandy who kicked 7 goals in the first quarter.
Bytell best for Sandy . Byrnes kicked 2 early goals but has missed a couple since then.
impressed with Mitch...Took two great marks in the forward 50 for two points.
Billings and Heath doing ok. Jones way off the pace 1st quarter but better in thev2nd.
Our former captain doing ok and Highmore a rock at full back.
f***, Peris is quick.
Oh, nearly forgot. Kent f****** hopeless. Don't think he has had a touch.
half time score. 9,4.58 to 4.6 30

Re: Sandy v Frankston
3/4 time
sandy 12.7 79 to frankston 6.7.43. Sam Dunnell two goaLs that qrt and just missing a third, Kent actually took a mark but still f***ed up. Mitch kicked a lovely 50 metre goal. he now has 2.2 for the match. AND the bad news. Bytell helped off the ground with a leg injury. Hoping it's an ankle rather than a knee. Adams is a very good mark. Allison and Billings are both poor kicks for goal, but we already knew that.

Re: Sandy v Frankston
full time. 15.9-99 to 7.10-52.
Byrne leading possession winner with 23 possessions and three goals
Allison kicked two also..misses a couple of sitters.
They mentioned Brett Voss's son..guess he was a Frankston player.
Saw a Frankston player squirt Mitch with his water bottle in the first quarter. ...brotherly love i guess. Mum would have had a handful with those two.
Jones and billings improved as the game progressed...almost played kick to kick in the end..
Heath a fair way off IMHO. Kent looks overweight and disinterested.
Peris will be a player I hope. Has speed To burn.
Great game from Highmore at full back. Joyce was his usual dependable self.
Sandy kicked 7 straight on the first quarter before kicking 8. 9 for the rest of the match. Most of those points were deliberate shots at goal and highly gettable.
Sharman didn't play.

Re: Sandy v Frankston
I only saw the second half but Billings had heaps of it. He was levels above.
Jones was just okay. Got a bit of it but iffy disposal.
God I like Mitch Owens. Super aggressive, nice build and a good athlete. He’ll be a beauty.
I actually liked Heath. Still very raw but good build and does some nice things. Glorious tap to Byrnes(?) who goaled from a tight angle.
I struggled to make out too many Saints players unfortunately. Joyce was good in the backline. One of the other backs looked very solid - Highmore I think.

Didn't mention Connelly but he also had a lot of possessions. Great Kick. Yeah that tap to Byrne was good but he is still very raw. Will be a player though.

Re: Sandy v Frankston
I like him.
Good aggression and football skills.
From what I have seen he doesn’t have much of a leap, a bit like Marshall.

Re: Sandy v Frankston
Peris might be quick but needs to get a kick!
He had about 5 touches.
Bytel good in close but very average on the outside
Like Ollie Wines/Brad Crouch - relevant to that standard
Byrnes - very good at that level
Billings very good, did some very good defensive acts
Owens is quite good overhead - will be a player
Him and Windhager able to play mid/HF is good for the future
AFL level players going forward imo
Coffield - yes (but maybe elsewhere?)
Clark - yes
Paton - yes
King - Yes
Bytel - Maybe
Byrnes - Yes
Allison - No
Sharman - Maybe
Peris - Doubtful
Connolly - Maybe
Highmore - Depth Player
Heath - Yes
Kyle - No Idea? Haven’t seen him? Has he left??
Adams - No
Owens - Yes
Windhager - yes
Wanganeen-Milera- Yes

Re: Sandy v Frankston
Peris had 11 disposals actually. 6 kicks and 5 handballs. A couple of times the dills calling the match mistook Peris for Owens.B.M wrote: ↑Sun 01 May 2022 7:25pm Peris might be quick but needs to get a kick!

Bytel has great hands. most, if not all of his handballs found a team mate.

Shame Bytel didn’t play in the seniors on the weekend
Really think he’d have been better value than Windhager

He’s a good kid and looks promising. I’d have preferred a more experienced body with a higher ceiling for a big game in tough conditions

Re: Sandy v Frankston
Coffield is a class footballer and automatic selection when fit
Adams, at 18 years of age and just a couple of games into senior football, is a key defender being developed
Why so judgemental on kids who have come from schoolboy football?
2 games at the next level, against adult bodies and they are not up to it - get rid of them
Really?
So judgemental

Re: Sandy v Frankston
I am allowed to have an opinion and will call it as I see it.
I know the opinion is not what is necessarily what people want to hear but idgaf
Some like to wait until it’s certain someone is no good
I’ll use my judgement to make a call on what I see
There were some signs to me that were worrying
And all I look for in kids is a sign or glimpse of something
Coffield is far from a class footballer - he needs to htfu to be considered that
Thought Peris and Adams were a mile off and some of the Sandy boys showed more (Lomann)

Whether posters disagree or agree, you are proven correct or not, you have put your opinion out there based on observation.
Agree on most of your assessments.
I always felt Peris was almost a PR recruitment.
Great runner but not a footballer IMO having seen him as a junior.
Haven't seen enough of Adams but I'll throw Allison in as a capital NO.
I'm more bullish on Highmore having an impact, but maybe elsewhere as we have a few similar players.
Coffield fits the bill of a modern wingman getting back to intercept and damaging running forward if he can build the tank.
Also believe Bytel is too one dimensional and Connolly may not be hard enough at the contest to be a consistent performer.

Re: Sandy v Frankston
I see something in Peris. A supreme athletic ability, a bit of mongrel and knowing him and his mum pretty well. I'll back him to transpose his learnt professionalism and natural talent to make it.B.M wrote: ↑Mon 02 May 2022 6:25pm I am allowed to have an opinion and will call it as I see it.

Adams has nice hands but might just be an interceptor, who will need to work on defence.
Don't disagree at this stage with anything you said though. So, let the development continue.
