Re: Prediction for Cairns
Robbie Gray, Powel-Pepper and Motlop are involved in a three way pile up in their forward line due to the slippery conditions. . All three are subbed off, unfortunately, for concussion protocol (only) .

Dougal Howard and Todd Marshall will still not like each other; before or after or during the game. Harsh words will be spoken at some stage.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
Sorry to be a downer but I’ve got a bad feeling here.
Don’t know that I like the balance per’se and feel like we lack a little grunt for a fired up Power.
Port start fast and we play catch up all match but skills fail us in the end. Port by 30
Higgins to get a lot of attention this week
Karl Amon wanting to impress his in coming team has a blinder

Re: Prediction for Cairns
I think this is the week we get found out physically through the midfield. Too many young underdeveloped bodies through there.
Brace yourself.

Rd 1, at the end, thought 'yes, I knew we'd lose'.
At half time at the other games, esp being at Perth, I had that empty feeling in my gut 'oh boy, here we go again' and I refused to get excited when we managed to grab the lead.
This game is no different for me.
Feeling pessimistic.
Refuse to get hopes up.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
You meant 9 scoring shots=
2 from 50m
7 behinds from 30-40m, including 1 around-the-corner in the left pocket.
I'm doing a reverse-jinx, hoping the opposite happens

I'm also a pessimist when it comes to game day...I think it's a well earned perspective unfortunately.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Fri 29 Apr 2022 4:28pmYou meant 9 scoring shots=

I will say, that we are playing in a way that should keep us in games with any opponents, so it will come down to goal kicking accuracy.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
Round 1 Higgins kicked 0. 4 hence the Missy Higgins nick revived. King kicked 1. 3. 7 Misses between the two,. Those two kick straight and we beat the filth.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Fri 29 Apr 2022 3:10pmI've had this feeling before every single game.skeptic wrote: ↑Fri 29 Apr 2022 2:56pm Sorry to be a downer but I’ve got a bad feeling here.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
From the Port Adelaide BF website…(pompously named Port Adelaide Est 1870)
You look at our midfield. Current Brownlow medallist. Rozee. Butters. They will get 1st use via Hayes.
Forward half of Robbie/Mitch/Todd. All A-Grades. Todd IS A-Grade. Farrell will be.
Our defence has held up mostly.
We could do a number on the Saints.
https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/ ... 031/page-4
It is true that their midfield is better, but I see weaknesses and holes everywhere in our side this week.
Maybe some of the lesser lights van play blinders?
If there is a prospect that Ken Hinkley has begun to lose the team, it might be helpful..

Re: Prediction for Cairns
That's pure bulls***. We have won 5 out of 6 whereas Port has lost 5 out of 6. Our mid field is heaps better on current form. And only current form matters.

Saints to win by 9 points.
McKenzie to have 25 touches.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
Mmm..
Both teams have had a terrible, absolute pile of crap losses. Us b Collingwood, Them vs Hawthorn.
With a long injury list,
Port lost narrowly to Brisbane - 11 pts.
They lost to Melbourne.
They lost by a kick to Adelaide and Carlton
It is not as bad as it looks from their side and it’s not as good as it look s from our side..
We haven’t beaten a 2021 top 8 team except GWS, and I think they aren’t much chop yet..
I am now thinking that fitness will win it for us, unless we suddenly get accurate in from if goal..wouldn’t that be nice for a change!!
And we are fielding our weakest side this year.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
I feel we are pretty likely to win - say an 80% chance - but it’s likely to be close.
Port are a pretty impressive team until they get inside their forward 50, where they have long struggled to create opportunities. I don’t think their form against the Eagles tells us too much: after keeping Port tied down for a quarter and a bit, the Eagles quickly fell apart. Our defence shouldn’t do that.
As always, we will need to take our chances. If we can do that to a reasonable extent, Port will struggle to score enough points to beat us.

Re: Prediction for Cairns
How is it our weakest side? Our Round 1 side had Kent and the invisible Owens in it. I prefer tomorrow’s side to that one. Sure, Marshall is a loss, but otherwise it’s the lineup that’s been serving us extremely well this year.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Fri 29 Apr 2022 5:41pmMmm..

Re: Prediction for Cairns
Paddy was on fire in his last game. Marshall has been good also.
I'm not sure Campbell was necessary and may spend a bit of pointless time on the bench but he will give King and Membrey a buffer up forward if put up there.
Paddy BOG
Max 6
Higgins 3
Gresham 2.
38 point win.
Tight first half, attacking explosion by Saints 3rd quarter.
Pressure and keepings off in the last.
