Karl Amon
Rumour circling he wants out of port and heading to saints.
Told the club this week, was dropped for it.
Unrestricted free agent end of this year.
Nice list upgrade which will cost us nothing if true.

Weren'r we after him a couple of years back? Who does he replace if NWM and the other youngsters continue to show good form?

I don’t know how much I really want him to be honest
Was mediocre last week and has had a pretty miserable season compared to what he could be doing.
Isn’t he like 28? Would have to come cheap

Re: Karl Amon
He’s 26 and he grew up in Melbourne (played for Sandringham Dragons before being drafted by Port). Kane Cornes was talking about him yesterday on radio

Re: Karl Amon
Was very good last 2 season's. Part of the reason Port was so good. The whole team stinks this year so wouldn't be putting too much into current form. Quick, great skills and only 26 years old. If we are going to contend in the next year or two he's in the perfect bracket for us. Its a yes from me!

Re: Karl Amon
Only if he's a bonafide midfielder. I don't want to see the club recruit anything but midfielders this year and that includes a replacement for Paddy.
All other types shouldn't even be on the clubs radar.

Re: Karl Amon
If he has already checked out from Port - maybe that is why his form has dropped - but still speaks to ethics

A far better option for depth than Kent!

Absolutely no way we trade for him though
"Amon would qualify as a restricted free agent at the end of the season, meaning the Power can only force a trade if they match an offer from another club."

Yes. Started this season.
Both of his parents are diehard St Kilda Fans.
His parents, Marcus and Katrina, were passionate St Kilda fans and organised for Karl to be the club mascot when the Saints played Sydney
Saints appoint Indigenous Development Manager
St Kilda have appointed Katrina Amon as the club’s Indigenous Development Manager as it looks to continue its support in the First Nations and education space.

PS.
Have to love Nova Peris.
She is always being photographed in St Kilda gear!
Hopefully she will get to watch her son play in the seniors one day.

Re: Karl Amon
He turns 27 in August. So is in theory in his best years .
He is likely to be a restricted free agent.

Re: Karl Amon
Amon would be a good depth player but I dont think he is a player we should be spending big $$$ on. We have NWM, McKenzie, Billings, Wood, Hill all capable of playing on a wing. Plus Allison, Connolly & Sharman as other possibilitues going forward. I dont believe another wingman who is very ordinary in front of goals is a need, but if he doesnt cost big $$$ he would be ok.
As far as list builds go we need a break away elite midfielder, backup key pillars at FF & FB and another quality ruckman.

Re: Karl Amon
One dude on a FB fan page says:
'My mate plays golf with Amon's dad, who reckons Karl's never asked his manager to approach the saints, it's all gossip'
Another two guys had an argument over 'Amon's mum works at the Saints'
One said 'that's his aunt, bro'
They both agree that she's the Indigenous Inclusion manager or something.
Bloody social media bringing out all sorts of nuffies

Re: Karl Amon
I agree with Impatient Sainter that we don't need another mid.
But I trust Gallagher to make the right calls going forward.
If we just (channel Richo) 'park' Paul Hunter and McKernan, oh yeah, James Frawley...
Gags has done extremely well in undoing the crap work done by Trout, Bains, etc

True. If he had the mindset of I’ll fix this place up it would be more impressive

I believe he will be a restricted free agent.
The AFL has only advised at present who will be free agents, and has yet to advise who is a UFA or RFA.

Give him some of the Dan money.
Then give him Dan's jumper.
Easy as. I dont see the problem.
