Summaries: Games Sandringham & Saints v Suns
Sandringham game:
It was a good battling win by Sandringham who looked like they were going to get run over at one stage.
I think it may have been the GCS pressure, but Sandi over hand balled today too there own detriment causing a number of turn overs. They managed to scrap out a good win.
Max Heath had 16 disposals kicked 3 goals took some nice marks and 28 hitouts. Moyle possibly shaded him in the ruck duel, but Max smashed him around the ground and was one who really lifted in the last to get Sandi home.
Zac Jones had 28 disposals & 9 clearances - not bad on limited minutes.
Bytel still has a way to go but had 27 disposals & 7 clearances.
Owens was probably our next best player with 26 disposals.
Connolly not his best game but still had 21 disposals.
Allison is starting to get the footy playing on a wing with 15 disposals.
Sharman 14 touches but zero impact - looks out of sorts.
Kent is the laziest footballer ever to be a AFL list.
Adams was ok down back but didn't get a lot of it.
Joyce concussed in 3rd quarter, but dropped a number of sitters before hand.
Kyle & Peris DNP.
GCS have some serious talent running around in the VFL - Jeremy Sharp had 40 disposals and kicked 2 goals.
Saints game:
A real important win by the boys, who are now third on the ladder with a good percentage.
Marshall was huge against Witts.
McKenzie is one the bravest players in the comp, brilliant.
Long showing his adaptability did well.
NWM kicking is just sublime.
Higgins a brilliant game.
Battle did well but had a couple of bad turnovers.
Hayes is the 1% king.
Lienert just keeps finding the ball.
Crouch, Steele, Sinclair, Gresham, Ross, Hill, Membrey, Wilkie all continued on their merry way.
Butler does my head in at times, but I guess we take the good with the bad.
Giddy up Sainters!

Yep, Hollands, Sharp & Bella couldn’t get a game at this point but all could become very good players, particularly Hollands.

So does Jones come in this week or give him another in the McGoos?

Hey Mart - Who was Heath rucking against? How much time did he spend forward?

TBH I was surprised by his stats and although he did some nice things, he did looked really gased at times. I guess it will come down to how he pulls up and trains throughout the week. If he does come in Windhager will miss which will be a shame.

I’d give him a week
It’s not like we need to rush him back
NWM or Windhager can have another week… Owens could have a second opportunity or it would be nice to see Connolly debut this year or Byres try again

I hope our recruiters were watching the game, GCS definitely have some kids worth targetting.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Sun 17 Apr 2022 9:08amYep, Hollands, Sharp & Bella couldn’t get a game at this point but all could become very good players, particularly Hollands.
