Sums up his kicking in 30 seconds lol. The helicopter to Max, then the perfect drop punt for a ripping goal. That's Seb all over.

You've thought a lot of things but you stuck fat with Seb though and it's paid off.
Ratten has shown great faith and leadership where Seb is concerned.
Seb being a strong leader and devoted club man has been inspiring to the players around him and I doubt many have worked harder.
He built his fitness from average to elite and became a high level accumulator under Richo
Then he worked on playing different roles and improved his field play and disposal after Ratten came along.
Currently, he is playing the best football of his career. If he has 3 more years at this rate, he will be a true club great.

Better than 2017?

Probably not

Better than last two seasons? Hard to say, he had different roles?

Who gets credit for today
Ratten? Lade??

I’ll go with the player actually getting a kick - Seb

It was a nice goal.

Seb’s in good form. He’s got a lot of experience and he’s big bodied like a few others which gives us an edge on a few teams now.

Where does Zac play when he comes back over the next few weeks?

He is much smarter, through the roles he has applied himself to and as a result he is a far more composed footballer than he was in 2017. Ratten is credited with the skill development he lacked but yes, no doubt the accomplishment belongs to Ross.

If he’s better than 2017 where he got 14 Brownlow votes and made the AA squad… I must be missing something

He has been very good, as he usually is

In 2017 he was dominant

Steele is a club great - already

Harvey is an all time AFL great

Players go through careers never ever being BOG … but be solid contributors

4 in a season is a pretty handy season.

2017 Seb Ross was a gun in the comp - easily his best season

Steele is dominant
Harvey was dominant
Seb was handy.
We arent talking about the 30 players in clubs who arent midfielders and not averaging 33 possession a game.

And I think the frustration last coiple of years has been that Seb seems to have gone backwards from those early years, instead of getting better.
This season he seems to be playing with more certainty and confidence

Just played a different role in 2020 and 2021 - that simple

A handy 2017 you say?

How many Mids make the AA squad? 40 players
Probably 8-10 defenders and forwards
And about 3or 4 ruckmen

That leaves about 18-20 mids in the AFL - then you have the Wingers they take up some spots
That leaves 12-16 mids

He was judges to have been in the best 12-16 mid comp wide in 2017

He easily won our B&F ( in an 11win season)

I’d say he was MORE than handy in 2017

I’d say he was pretty fkn good

No. First you said he was dominant in 2017. Then you backed it up with 14 votes and 4 BOG. Then I asked you to compare him to Steele and Harvey and you choked and said 4 BOG was handy and compared him to players who never get votes. Cough cough.
You should probably read what you write when it's more than 1 sentence.

Handy = sarcasm

Downplay it all you want - the proof is written in history

Would you like me to name the games where he was dominant?

He had 13 games of 30+ possessions (inc a 39)

That’s pretty dominant in my eyes….

Dominant=dominant.

I'm not down playing anything. The word is grossly over used. Senb was very good in an average team, in an even competition, where there was 5 wins difference between 1st and 12.
Dominant is the wrong word. Dusty was dominant. Seb had the physical attributes to match Dusty but was pale in comparison where it matters. Skill.

Ironically Seb had played on and beat Dusty

However
Dusty will become an AFL legend when he retires

Seb will be remembered as a very good player who played 200 plus games won two B&Fs and Captained the club in Gearys absence.

In 2017 he was dominant
13 games over 30 disposals
14 Brownlow Votes
Best and Fairest
AA squad

Pretty good season you’d have to admit - as hard as it is

I guess it is true. Seb is the most dominant, elite, almost AA, double B&F, B+ grader, we have ever had. Ill certainly concede that and stop all the detraction and hate. 🙄

His 2017 was pretty ‘handy’

The fact is he is a very good AFL footballer and should be remembered as such IMO

Those who say good in a bad team, well it depends what you consider bad?
Greg Burns, who we all remember as a good player also won 2 x B&Fs and on both occasions we won the wooden spoon. Were his awards meaningless?? Does that detract from his efforts… of course not! You still have to play well against AFL opposition… sometimes it’s harder in a poor team, as your team mates are not that good and you have to do it yourself a bit.
However in Sebs case he got 10 Brownlow votes in 2016 in a team that won 12 games and was unlucky not to play finals and 14 votes in a team that won 11.
We were not great, but definitely not poor. And he was probably the best player over those two seasons.
He backed it up in an average season in 2018 and 2019 by being ultra consistent.

Ross benefits from not having to be ‘the man’.

He’s behind a bunch in the midfield now so gets little to know attention/work put in to him.

As someone said above, the goal sums him up. Shanks a simple kick inside 50 under no pressure, lucky for him he got another chance.
