Re: Things change.
Sebby is probably in career best form +++
Getting off the chain and really attacking hard offensively.

Re: Things change.
Yep
That's a good summary
There was allot of things that didn't quite work today but the biggest positive was a good team effort got us the 4 points .
We won each quarter , also a positive and Sandy won so overall a very good day !

Seb is more influential because his opponents are spread thin trying to stop Steele, Crouch, Sinclair and Gresham. He appears to be enjoying his freedom and is more potent as a result.

Re: Things change.
Geez, McKenzie is back to his best from last year and improving each game. Justifying his high draft position IMHO.

Re: Things change.
Haha - career best form?!
In 2017 he averaged 30 per game and made the AA squad
He’s been a very good player for his entire career

Re: Things change.
They all look fit this year.
Some players thrive on the extra fitness and on the flip side also look terrible when they are not quite fully fit. Seb is one of those players. Coffield another.

Re: Things change.
He looks better than that form again was my point, career best in absolute terms. I think he's enjoying the freedom of playing in midfield that is going quite well.

Re: Things change.
I’m very impressed with number 19. He’s tough as, quick and has loads of gut running ability.
He now plays like he belongs out there.

I’ve said in years gone past Seb is not our problem. It was the fact he was a top 5 player for us that was the problem. If he was the 20th best player in our team we would go deep

Re: Things change.
Ross is actually quite quick
And today he was able to swing onto his left foot and drill one
But
Where my concern is is that he can not run a straight line AND kick when running that straight line (at pace)
He needs a turning circle onto his left foot - or he just stops
This reduces his effectiveness - and slows ball movement
Look at Jones with ball in hand as a comparative
Then you compare his overhead presence with (say) Higgins
So whilst a fine career and a current “best 22” selection, to me he is a support player given the side we are (or will be) able to put on the park
Confirmation is our starting midfield - so those in the centre square at game and quarter starts
And who is on the wings
Looking at those numbers on their backs is always of interest and instructive
Noting the progression of the number 7

If Dusty Martin was the 20th best player at the tigers, their team would go pretty deep too.Goose is king wrote: ↑Sat 16 Apr 2022 11:21pmI’ve said in years gone past Seb is not our problem.
