Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
Doctors have concluded that the only way to stop Dan Hannebery from more soft tissue leg injuries is to amputate both legs.
Hannebery is expected to be unavailable for 6 to 8 weeks and will then play in a wheelchair under the new AFL inclusion and diversity policy.
All clubs will be encouraged to play at least one handicapped player under this new policy.
Hannebery said he had grown use to his legs and will miss them, but this move is for the best, it will benefit the club and may extend his playing career significantly.

Re: Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
Perhaps with the money Hannebery has been getting, he could buy some new bionic legs.

What are the chances that there’d be some electrical malfunction that would prolong the agony of him not playingSainternist wrote: ↑Thu 31 Mar 2022 3:58pm Perhaps with the money Hannebery has been getting, he could buy some new bionic legs.

Maybe he could get some magic legs and become Lieutenant Dan?

Re: Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
weve already stumped around $3,5m for Dan.
I say we may as well stump up another $2.5m to give him the surgery outlined in this video at the 2m10s mark https://youtu.be/0CPJ-AbCsT8

I note that the (usual) rubbish peddled on this site re Hannebery omits any reference to the remarks of the Senior Coach on this subject.
Me?
I concur with the remarks of the Senior Coach.

The surgery was successful.
He is training hard.
He should be selected in a few weeks but one of his tires is leaking. They are trying to diagnose the problem. Everything is being done. Stand by.

Re: Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
I think the person who recruited Hanneberry has no legs ... I heard a few saint supporters call him a low down bum.

Re: Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
What I’m interested in
His legs have been fked with soft tissue injuries for 3 or 4 years
And the idea to do his current surgery happens now?

Re: Hannebery Legs To Be Amputated
Medical degree takes 7 years, IIRC.
That's just to become a GP.
Ortho surgeon?
Well, that takes a lot more time+money, and endless hours of study. To be accepted into the club of Ortho Surgeons (FRACP or something?)
In contrast, to be accepted into *this* forum,
all you need is
- a PC or internet-capable phone
- access to the internet
- ability to string 3 words together
- a minimum of 2 working fingers or other method of tapping keys
- ability to answer 'which famous Brownlow-winning Sainter wore #35'
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

"ability to string 3 words together"
Some current posters should have failed on the criterion alone.
