Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
Can anyone explain this, and how it came about?

Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
Basically he is recovering from a calf strain. Perhaps they are 'gun shy' after all Hannebery's 30 x strains?
Apparently he was hampered by a calf injury throughout the pre season and didn't acheive the required fitness base.

Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
I'll guess: we recruited a player with a serious back problem and he will be listed as two weeks away for the next 5 years at which point we will stubbornly admit we should cut our losses and delist him. You know it makes sense.

You forgot to add that he then goes to another club, most likely Sydney, and becomes a star.Vortex wrote: ↑Wed 30 Mar 2022 11:44amI'll guess: we recruited a player with a serious back problem and he will be listed as two weeks away for the next 5 years at which point we will stubbornly admit we should cut our losses and delist him. Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
I explained this last week in the training report.
I spoke to Tony Brown and he told me that he had a persistent calf injury and had not really trained fully since January.
He therefore needs a mini pre-season to be up to fitness to play out a game.

Incidentally there is no issue with his back now and was training last week.
I will go to training tomorrow and report on his progress.

If possible can you also report on Sharman, and other young guys in terms of training?

Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
Why do we keep drafting players with existing injuries? Is it because our medical doctors are narcissists?
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Injuries as of 29 March.
went to training this morning.
all players were training today with the exception of :
Jones -not sighted today
Clark - running laps but looking better than last week.
Billings joined general training for about 2/3 of the session and then ran laps. looks to be another week away.
Bytel in full training (no problem with his back, just needs to bring fitness up to AFL level.
Ryder trained well with no visible effects from VFL last week.
Standouts were Hill, Sinclair, McKenzie, Gresham, Marshall and King.
Good enthusiastic session.
