Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
Does anyone think the feelgood story about his cut in salary only related to match day payments?
If St Kilda were silly enough to contract him doesn't mean he should be silly enough to retire. The heat should be elsewhere.

Well I didn't agree when we recruited him & have been one of his biggest critics but I was hoping that maybe he would come good but it's not looking good ATM. Has a contract next year but maybe time to make the tough call & move on.

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
Quite seriously the club should only make an announcement on Hannebery when he is going to play, there would be much less frequent updates and ridicule.
Surely even now the Hannebery die hard St Kilda faithful will concede this has been nothing but an unmitigated disaster of a trade/ recruitment.
Swans must be pissing themselves at our stupidity.

Just read the on BF -
The #10 is cursed. The number has only been out on the park for a total of 17 games in the last 11 years.
Prior to Hannebery, Nathan Freeman and Daniel Markworth.

I still think this year will be his best.
I expect four to six games.

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
The damage was done long ago by one of the worst administrators the AFL has seen in Lethlean. Of course, only a club like St Kilda would give him another miracle power ride.
The decision to take Hannebery and give him a ludicrous, totally non-sensical contract was a massive cancer for the club then and continues to be 4 years on. It's a bad look for the rest of the list in relation to leadership, psychology, morale and in setting an example, to have a high priced, spent recruit sit in the stands 98% of this time.
I watched Treloar on Friday night and the contribution he made to the Dogs in that one game alone was more valuable than Hannebery has given to his club in 4 years. How I wish that money went to him instead. Lethlean drove a large stake into our club with a significant flow-on effect with that signing alone. Surprised how some still can't see the profound ramifications of that signing.

Most sure he couldn’t get fit enough to run a fun run; let alone league footy. Needs to give it up. For all our sakes

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
He should retire.
Sydney knew he was cooked physically when they sent him packing.
I bet he never thought he'd end his career as a list clogger, but

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

In fairness... in this case it was perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecyImpatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sat 26 Mar 2022 8:02pm Just read the on BF -

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
I think it will depend on whether or not it effects his salary
Ppl were super impressed that he took a minor pay cut of the reported $1.5+ million he’s earned over 4 years. IMO if he was going to do right by the club and retire, he’d have done it by now. If retiring comes with a negotiated pay out, then our last match of 2022 is when he’ll pull the plug

Yeah SK it's a sad and disappointing outcome and incredibly frustrating in the context of where our midfield development is at.saintkid wrote: ↑Sat 26 Mar 2022 8:06pmThe damage was done long ago by one of the worst administrators the AFL has seen in Lethlean. Isn’t he contracted until the end of next year?

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
I’m under the impression that he was contracted to the end of this year with the option of an extension if he met particular performance based indicators... of which he met about 5%
