Re: Has Cartlon Gone Past Us ?
From my watching games over the R1 and last night Voss is the first from outside the 2021 8 to rip off the Dees game plan.
Anyone at Round 1 last year suggesting a Dees flag with their list would have been committed. Likewise Voss has them playing ball-in-motion expansive team first footy with a 22 that has a dozen average players. Just like Melbourne.
Let's hope Ratts has also watched and taken notes.

And still if the doggies had kicked straight in that last quarter, the brown baggers would have lost.SaintDippa wrote: ↑Fri 25 Mar 2022 12:54pm From my watching games over the R1 and last night Voss is the first from outside the 2021 8 to rip off the Dees game plan.

I wouldn't be getting too carried away just yet.

Re: Has Cartlon Gone Past Us ?
It is not just whether they won or lost. It is how they played against a very good opponent. Remember that the Dogs were the second best team in the AFL last season.
The Blues were disciplined, had structure, a very well balanced team with talent across the ground and especially in the midfield, a visible game plan...and unlike many Saints had present in the main very good field kicking.

Re: Has Cartlon Gone Past Us ?
The other point about the Blues is that they only have one best 22 player older than 28 which is Sam Docherty and he is only 28 yrs, 5 months.
They have a good chunk of their best 22 who should in theory get better due to still being on the young side.
Those two facts mean that they are very well set up to keep improving over the next several years.

Re: Has Cartlon Gone Past Us ?
From the first 2 games i have watched have a game plan well structured disciplined and plyers seem to be playing for the jumper and the coach.
Having said that i see us as a bottom 4 team and yes Carlton well and truly past us.
They have recruited well and for the future unlike us short term success

By a long way but it did take them 27 years
We have 13 or so more years to try and get it right
