Kane Cornes on Saints, jack Ginnivan
Kane Cornes quite rightly takes aim at Jack Ginnivan's post-game performance (a "lightweight" victory) which hopefully will be screened to the Saints players.
What's more sobering is Cornes' casual dismissal of the Saints "who nobody expects will do anything this year". There you have it in a nutshell. 2022 exactlky like the last ten years of mediocrity.

I read that article earlier and noted the same backhander too, if I was Ratts I'd be sending a photocopy of the article to every player at the club with that comment highlighted.
The players need to be reminded of what many pundits in the industry think of them and their chances this year.

If the team needs that for motivation we may as well just shut up shop & move to Tassie . Team's taking the piss out of us is our problem not theirs . We are mentally & physically weak ATM & IMO if we don't change both we will continue to be brunt of opposition teams celebrations.

Like many - I think Kane Cornes is basically a footy shock jock. That said - every now and again he’s balanced and not unhinged.
I agree with him. I didn’t think we’d do much in 2022 (not sure when we will though - our list is shite) but as a realist - I deep down hoped for better.
Can’t shoot the messenger on that. We deserve what we get

I respect Cornes (not like him) . He’s articulate and thoughtful and brave. But he is also, as you say, a total ‘shock jock’ …He knows the game and the money that comes with having pedigree, holding a straight face (all stern and serious) and making sweeping statements.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Sun 20 Mar 2022 10:11pm Like many - I think Kane Cornes is basically a footy shock jock. But let’s be honest, he’s only pointing out what all journals have already said, nobody thinks St Kilda will be anywhere near it this year. Actually, they say even worse. With our ageing etc.,
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

I thought they were carrying on a bit after the siren like they had won the Grand Final so I turned the TV off in disgust.
Cornes also carries on a bit but he speaks the truth which can be quite refreshing in this day and age.

Ever sunk a long improbable put and muttered "what an easy game". You don't mean it. Its humourous relief.
Our men may play dumb footy at times, may be short changed by the selectors and coaching staff but they are not easy to play against.
I was there, close up, they played fierce and committed footy, took the hits and gave them.
Byrnes and Kent had poor nights, but from where I was they were trying their hearts out.
I would be flabbergasted if Ginnivan didn't come off sore and mightily relieved our selectors are fools and we had key players out injured - as we always seem to.
