New Section for SS? Personal Development/Mental Health

Post: # 1941566Post shanegrambeau »

On the eve of the season proper, I’d like to propose to the administrators of Saintsational, a new section which is for people to discuss ideas pertaining to personal development, healing, understanding the world around us, understanding oneself and mental health in general

1) Will keep football related stuff uncluttered with the whining and whinging that certain of us are liable to indulge in. So only footy stuff in the main section.

2) Politics (Ukraine etc., ) news can stay in the third section

3) Animal enclosure - I dunno what that’s about, but I guess it ain’t serious enough for mental health stuff.

I know some will say simply, ‘f that, go somewhere else’ well I say did them..they needn’t visit the new section. In return people can use the new section as a place to discuss and grow into better people in a Saints friendly supporting environment. Being a Saints fan is the unique bonding element here. Cos we can’t change it.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

LOL - I know that you are serious - and I applaud the concept - If it helps just one person to confront their issues it is valuable

But surely your suggestion is like walking into a Rehab Facility and offering AA Counselling

We are all Nutters here - and come here just to vent!

Most of our threads would end up there

A ha…

So true…

Some people seem to be aware of it, others carry on oblivious… ! Too funny.

Big Footy have their Mental Health thing…..
I think this at SS a more interesting and let us say, ‘eclectic’ crew. We are certainly a very well-balanced group. A Swiss watch.

Sometimes threads supposedly related to footy …..go straight to the shooting gallery at Luna Park. I have no idea why. 😆

I can already hear..’Yeah, you want mental health ? Then go the F to Big Footy…!!!!’ 😂 Stop your f wringing and leave us out of it!

Well, then, I guess it will be ‘business as usual”

I think Ratten shouldn’t coach from the bench. Wat do you think?

I think we need Ratten coaching from the Box - but need to Hayes back - just to sit on the bench - nothing more - just sit there - can you imagine being the player that shanks their kicks - gets dragged - and has to sit next to LenDog?

My mental health is fine at the moment but it is sure to deteriorate rapidly come round 1.

I will come here for counselling and reassurance that I am not alone in my wierd obsession with this stupid game.

Or should we prevail - to get validation for your years of pain!

There is a varied group of forumites here of different ages, ethnicities and experiences that pbly have all manner of different expertises to offer.

I know over the years I’ve leaned on the general forum for ideas/thoughts on non footy related matters.

I reckon as long as it’s clear that we’re not going into the realm of pretending it’s professional advice… IMO it’s a noble concept

Shane, Shane, Shane!

Has the penny not dropped with you yet?

This site is, has always been and always will be a place for those with mental health issues looking for rehabilitation. These are side effects off being bloody rabid St Kilda supporters!
