Sainter Dad,
Absolutely love your work on this.
but you've got Sebastian Ross listed twice in the goalkickers.
Thanks for your indispensable service to Saintsational.

With 6 rounds left to go so 30 points maximum available - Jack Steele is the winner.

Hey Sainter Dad.
Do you keep records of how the voting finished each year?
I went searching but you posted them as pictures and they no longer exist or the links don’t work.
Kosi - lol - I do not think so - I will search some backups - but I do not think I can help
What are you trying to ascertain?
Some people make claims that player X was really good in 2018 but all we can verify it with is a top 10 in the B&F. I’d like to go to a higher authority.

Kosi - it is a bit hard to help Year by Year - but these are the total numbers of Votes received by each player across the years 2013 - 2021 (to date)
330 is the total votes per year - except for last year when we did not vote for Round 1 - So 16 Rounds and 2 finals - 270 votes
I hope it gives you an indication of growth / decline each year.

Thanks SD
If a player does not appear there eg DMAC, I assume they were never in the top 5 for the week.
And thanks for another tremendous effort in running this.
Macquarie Dictionary Word of the Year for 2023 "Kosi Lives"
Hey Kosi - you are technically correct - the best kind of correct.
I have only tabulated the final votes as you can draw no relevant info from the raw data due to after a win we might have 50 people vote - after a loss 10.
Additionally in 2013 there were FAR more people voting than 2021.
The only effective way of looking at total votes would be 22 to 1 with the most votes gained getting 22 - and down until there are no points awarded. However, this also gets skewed for the fact that people would cast silly votes etc. and if someone week in week out threw in a 1 vote for POT-00000000 then they could get between 1 and 17 for just that single vote - we saw that a lot with the "Longer/Hickey Conflict" of 2017.
So I made a executive decision to only include significant votes - and the best cut off was the top 5. Unfortunately - if you were consistently 6th you would be considered a pretty decent player - but not get a spot on this list

Love the stats!!!
Would love to see Total Votes
Especially interested where Ross sits!!!
Top 10 total votes are:
Votes
Player
275
Steven
230.5
Steele
182
Ross
160.5
Riewoldt
147
Armitage
137
Billings
130
Montagna
97.5
Marshall
92.5
Roberton
89.5
Dunstan
However you can draw nothing from this as Hayes only got 68 votes (in two years) and you cannot summise that Ross is better than Hayes - and Riewoldt for example
Average votes per season recorded are probably more effective:
Votes
Player
46.1
Steele
39.28
Steven
34
Hayes
32.1
Riewoldt
30.5
Crouch
29.4
Armitage
26
Montagna
24.375
Marshall
22.75
Ross
20
Dal Santo
However this is also misleading as it only includes the last season of Dal for example - who was coming to the end of his career in 2013 (having won the award in 2011) so would be higher than Ross if you considered previous years, and LenDog won it in 2009 and 2012 as well as tied for to with Goddard in 2010 - so would probably have a higher average.
These counts should also be taken with a grain of salt as in years where there is a clear winner - 2021 - Steele for example - people were not allocating 5 to anyone else whereas in a year with Hayes, Harvey, Roo, Goddard, Monty, Dal etc the votes would be shared more evenly

I was lucky enough to be there today when SainterDad was able to present the trophy to Captain Jack in front of the entire team!!!
One of the few people to have seen the trophy IRL - maybe at some stage we can get a day that some more people can be present
Once photos have been sent - I will post them here though

I would like to further sing the praises of Captain Jack - but I fear that I cannot even do justice to the man.
He is humble - see Harvey
He is driven - see Hayes
He has leadership - see Reiwoldt
He is loved by the players - see Geary (and I do not say this lightly - all players I spoke to yesterday looked to mentioned Steele in casual conversation)
