Saintsational Fan Forum - A passionate community of St Kilda Football Club fans discussing news, history, players, trade rumours, results, AFL stats and more.
I understand your terrible dilemma Simon and congratulate you on prioritising care for your ageing parents above everything else that you do - I feel sure they will be extremely grateful that you are able to support them in their time of need!
Best wishes for the future....

Due to the poor health of both of my parents since December and the time I need for their care, I am unable to continue as administrator and moderator. I am happy to continue paying for Saintsational.
I am open to having a discussion on how the forums continue without my involvement and then seek the owners blessing for the handover.
Thanks for your service - much appreciated. And all the best for your next phase in caring for your parents.
Who are the moderators?
I can only find 3.

I know you are leaving as moderator.
May I ask you, as someone who moderates a forum has some insight the rest of us might not appreciate.
1) Has the forum changed since you began?
2) Are posters these days different and is the policy of tolerance a thing set in stone or is are the goal posts continually moving - and if so, in what direction
3) what is the hardest part about being a moderator?
4) what kind of poster do you wish there were more of and what do you wish there were less of?
(Pls don’t say Shane G but by all means, be my guest)

Only just saw this Simon. My goodness, thank you so much for all you've done.
Almost 20 years have passed since we put faces to the names at Caulfield Racecourse and had John Beverage along to tell us about his recruits - you've been a mainstay ever since, and a humble and gracious contributor.

On his behalf I will have a go at no.3
the main job is behind the scenes and not so much the post stuff
keeping the site up and running is often a challenge when the sh!t hits the fan and there ALWAYS house keeping jobs to do
its why you have levels of mods
as for the other Qs personally I think there is much less tolerance these days - there is a new breed (or just just previously hidden) of very angry bees out there

Nice one Sunsaint!
Thanks..
Da angry bees...yep, there are plenty of us...bcos we are running out of time? lol (and thus can't spell)
Seriously though, I wonder about these things. I wonder if SS might become something like an old village church used to be like.
time yes - in shorter supply each year
my thinking has arrived at the simple truth that time is much too precious to waste on anger and the internals of evil machinations always laying beneath the surface

Hello BFUSA - I have sent you a PM, would be happy to discuss.
Wishing your parents and yourself BFUSA all the very best going forward. Family and well-being is all that matters at the end of the day and hope the year unfolds as well as possible for them and you.
