Clarko will be the coach of the GC Suns in 2023.
The Tassie Side is a pipe dream for the time being. Covid has killed the AFLs finances and 18 presidents will vote against it until the cash returns.

I think what this demonstrates is that it’s quite difficult for people in football to make measured, unemotional decisions about their playing lists and performance expectations.cwrcyn wrote: ↑Wed 09 Feb 2022 12:05pm Collingwood....Mick Malthouse super coach...Carlton....useless coach

Hmmmm......I wonder if it's something to do with the players.
Coaching is grossly overrated, but good people management is not
I think often with struggling clubs, there’s a real tendency to want to overrate players and the coach gets the blame for them stagnating in performance.
One tends to see this in the fan base every year come trade time when ppl frequently suggest to trade trash for treasure.
IMO coaches live and die by their assessment of a players potential and the list making decision that they push for.
Richo would be a good example of this… kept and pushed a lot of players that ultimately didn’t progress and Ratts has turned a lot of the list over in a short period.
Jury is still out on Ratts but there are some promising signs there

i tend to rate Ratts
as a smart fit for our mob
... continue the longevity of tenure/ general stability /
steady as she goes / longer term thinking approach
of current management
Clarko to Tas

not us , thats a given (in my book)

Re: Ratts talks with HS
Bloody good question.
I have started following Celtic very keenly in the Scottish Football League because they appointed Ange Postecoglou as manager/coach and he has taken them to top of the ladder. He believes they will be even better in a couple of years.
He appears to have done this by:
Having a very clear playing style. Based on attack, fitness and flair.
Got rid of players that can't play this style and recruited those that can He has a great eye for character and talent.
Only recruits players that are the right type of person for him. Character more important than talent.
Appointed a committed respected player as captain and lets the players develop their own comraderie and culture.
Makes it clear that the club and staff only exist to provide pleasure to the supporters. Let them have some pleasure for 90 minutes through good, attractive football.
Train as hard as you play. Only stop at half-time and after the game. And then at the end of the year.
take no nonsense from the press. If they ask stupid questions don't answer.
The supporters, players and staff love him and they are winning games with an attractive style.
