Match practice already?

Post: # 1935291Post Impatient Sainter »

Its interesting that the boys have been thrown into match practice/simulation the same week as the older guys return. Seems a bit premature in their readiness?

Before the Christmas break is a good time to show the new guys what afl level is like and for them to know what is expected of them. Stay for over Xmas and come back ready for a huge pre season

I hope you are right DJ, we need to start 2022 much better than we did this year.

Under Malcolm Blight they didn’t touch a football until the New Year. Prior to that it was all running. Used to bore the players witless.

Great post!
And that was the year all of the players got soft tissue injuries because they weren't conditioned for a game of footy.

I wonder if that was the start of the club having doubts about appointing Blight as coach, Malcolm just kept feeding that doubt right up to the point he
he got the arse. He couldn't believe the club sacked him, the club couldn't believe they wasted a $Mil on a flog.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Was Malcolm actually down here before Xmas to conduct match sim? I think his golf Club Championships were still running. Anyway, that's history, we appear to be on a better course and in better hands.

Malcolm is back in touch with his S.A. roots doing caravan commercials. I think Jerry can sleep soundly.
