I must admit I had never heard of David Russell, which explains why he is a billionaire and I have the cheapest level 3 seats at Marvel. Wonderful generosity, gee that "yacht", a floating mansion, would look great moored up my local creek for a week!

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Here's what I don't understand
I love my footy club
But I'm not fanatical about them
However if I had a billion dollars in my back pocket , I'd have no hesitation going to the club with a suit case full of it and saying " here you go , wipe off that debt and make the frawley wellness centre the finest in the country . No strings attached. "
Cos at the end of the day , I might be 20 million lighter but I'd still have 980 million in the old back pocket .
So I think I'll survive

Billionaires are billionaires because they don't do what you are suggesting.mr six o'clock wrote: ↑Wed 01 Dec 2021 11:29pm Here's what I don't understand

Talking of debt, there will never be a better time than now to get rid of as much of it as possible. We are a disaster in waiting if we are still carrying debt when interest rates inevitably turn. I tend to agree with Mr 6 o’clock. We appear to have more than our fair share of very rich supporters. You would think that the debt would be easy sorted. It puzzles me why we remain in a potentially perilous situation.

The hardest people to get to put their hand in their pocket are the very richest. If this club went on another fundraising campaign, over 95% of the money would come from those who can least afford it.
