Its not insane at all. Look how Pagan & Malthouse did at Carlton. Great lists make great coaches, not the other. Ratten is on around 600k and Clarkson would want over a million per year. I would much rather spend that soft cap on other things like recruitment and player development.

The best coach is the one with the best players, therefore the best team… and the least injuries. ….
…….
….and players who make themselves available

“No Nathan, you don’t quit, you honour your contract, the one you signed, the one that says you’ll be our back-up defender in case of injury or incase one of our players goes out”

That is the coach I want!!

Not for moment could I do it myself…a coach has got to have bigger balls than the players..don’t they?

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Coaches, your mission - should you accept - is to play an in form Essendon team that is on the way to the finals against the Saints with Shaun McKernan as sole ruck.

By the way, relatively early Gresham will cop an Achilles.

Forward line to include Lonie.

Jake Skinner will play his monthly blinder. Hooker will play best game of his career.

In 300 words or less explain why you should not be summarily sacked if Saints lose by a margin. Extra points if you can explain why Saints supporters had any expectation of a result other than a sound beating and whether such a scenario should be used to judge your long term coaching ability. Hint: Burnett Modelling predicts a 120 point thrashing.

For me, this is the match committee overestimating the squad, and underestimating the Bombers.

Many clubs have made the same mistake over the years, however I think our club has a copyright on the template and keeps doing this, regardless of who is in the box.

The worst loss was the Adelaide loss mate.
