The son-in-law's done another podcast with an ex-Sainter (he previously interviewed Grant Thomas).
NEW EPISODE - XAVIER CLARKE
It was a thrill to have Xavier Clarke as this week’s guest on the podcast.
‘X’ played 105 games for the Saints from 2002 to 2009 as a dashing and highly skilled midfielder, as well as a solitary game for the Brisbane Lions in 2010, in what was a playing career unfortunately plagued by injury.
After hanging up the boots, Xavier soon turned his attention to coaching, where he was the head coach of the Northern Territory Thunder in the NEAFL from 2014 to 2016, including winning the premiership in 2015.
Xavier then got an opportunity to progress his coaching to the next level, having been appointed as a development coach under Damien Hardwick at the Richmond Football Club in 2017, a role he fulfilled for three seasons. Xavier would then go on to coach the Tigers VFL side in the Covid-19 interrupted seasons that were 2020 and 2021, and will be a line coach in the AFL set-up next season.

Re: Xavier Clarke on Coaching Podcast
Would love to get Xavier back at the club. Have always felt this kid was something special.
History leads us to lament the pick as another one of those ‘what we could have gotten instead’ type scenario but he was exactly what we needed IMO.
If he hadn’t injured his knee or whatever it was in 09… IMO we easily win the 09 flag. Was always a great player in blustery conditions.
Xavier in
Dempster out
Pbly leads to Lovett not being traded in
Another big moment for the club
Doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s a thinking man’s coach.

And if you are looking to torture yourself even further just imagine what might have been if Maguire didn't break his leg and Hamill didn't retire injured and Kosi didn't crack his skull...did I miss anyone.
Still the most talented list assembled in the history of the draft system...even I could have coached them to a Flag.
Dynasty era possibly.
This is St Kilda.
But this is about Xman.
