We've had two years of solid trading that has been mostly successful. We are due a down year.
Brad Hill has not been as good as hoped but still managed a top 10 finish - let's see what he does next year.
We managed to retain our FRDP this year which is a good effort given how many we brought in.
Not sure what the Fox Footy brains trust expect us to do.
We also have a good chance to get Bing next year, which would be a huge coup.

FRDP, 3 x NGA might be our best bet.

Last two trade periods plus mid season draft tells me we have done OK, 9-10 first choice players (Wood as a pretty handy depth forward)

Been saying it since it become apparent early in the 2021 season, our list build is in a delicate and vulnerable position.

Have some incredible luck with injury and we are capable of returning to the 8. However luck is what we will need the most unless the recruiters can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

We are short two spine players and depth of quality through the midfield.

Silly to waste time on their gibberish but its lockdown. Ok argue Saints need to trade, what for who. Can't offer credible suggestions then be quiet.

The way for us to get a big defender is through the draft. There are none available in the trade category and we don't have a lot of idle assets anymore.

I wonder if they flip a coin, laugh and decide what angle to take on a particular club because you could use the same material and paint a really positive picture.

Surprised that King (no relative I hope) didn't reveal there is a rumour on the Saints forum that Wilkie was available. That would have got at least 18 clicks from recruiting managers. 17 hopefully salivating and one saying what bs is this.

St Kilda needs to sell for draft points but due to salary cap limitations no-one is buying.
Most clubs have back ended some contracts just to get through these 2 covid seasons.
They have no space for imports.

If true then the club has officially lost the plot...just would be farking insane to put a a whole club on hold for a player you may not land and will cost the club more than an insane amount of money if they can prize him out of the GC.

Having said that I think what is really in play is 2 effected COVID seasons and reduced trade traffic is the result due to limited stock and limited budgets.

But you won't get the media reporting on that because they are under strict guidance to make things look normal.

That's a good response Ben088, exactly what I thought when I watched Ralph & Co sprouting this nonsense last night - the only comment I agreed with when they analysed St Kilda in this trade period was Joey stating that the Saints need a young ruckman to play alongside Marshall, but we knew that!

What all these so called experts failed to mention when they rated St Kilda's 2021 season a "fail" was that the team had their season torpedoed right from the start with injuries to some key players, 2 season-ending, plus Paddy Ryder's unavailability for many games - no team would have recovered from that, and finishing 10th was therefore not a bad effort.

Yep I agree with you 100%. It is indeed a rubbish report with no mention of our rotten luck with injuries preventing us from fielding our best side. Coupled with the worst draw in the league and our poor preseason, we were never really a chance, and yet with a bit of luck and fairer umpiring, we still could have slipped into the finals.

I believe we are closer than these guys think or want to believe.

We all know that these guys get off on good trade stories. Sorry that the Saints have given them nothing to wank to.....not.
