Should we trade for North’s pick 1
I think we should try as north said they are open to trading it.Here are some options give north Lonnie and either battle or coffield plus 3 round in 2022
Or battle/coffield our 2/3 round 2022 there are other combinations these are just a couple what do we have to loose.
We have a surplus of half backs of 193cm with highmore as well.
Our draft hand would be strengthened to the point we might be able to get BING this year.

Only if North have suddenly become a charity will that happen.Saints58 wrote: ↑Mon 27 Sep 2021 3:09pm I think we should try as north said they are open to trading it.Here are some options give north Lonnie and either battle or coffield plus 3 round in 2022

A number one pick is worth 2 first rounds probably both in top 10 and one in top 5
Lonie will be lucky get a late 3rd/ 4th round pick , Battle probably a 3rd and Coffield maybe a 2nd which being a big drop makes no sense.

Re: Should we trade for North’s pick 1
Lonie is a restricted free agent he can go where ever he likes for free.
North's number one pick should be worth 3000 points but the best player in the draft is one of Paddy McCartin or Nick Daicos or Sam Darcy.
If North call Daicos name, Collingwood will queue jump for a father-son.
That effectively means North has the number two pick worth 2517 points.
Even then they can not select Sam Darcy because the Bitches will queue jump to grab him.
That would mean the North's pick is really only worth 2,234 points
St Kilda's first pick at 9 becomes 11 after Daicos and Darcy stolen.
That alone is only worth 1,329 points still 905 points short of North's pick true valuation.
So add in Battle or Coffield and a third rounder you might get a deal.
But without St Kilda's first pick you are trying for highway robbery.

The old package of surplus and average assets trade for a real asset. Love this time of year!Saints58 wrote: ↑Mon 27 Sep 2021 3:09pm I think we should try as north said they are open to trading it.Here are some options give north Lonnie and either battle or coffield plus 3 round in 2022

If North were to accept that, they may as well shut up shop immediately! Jason Horne-Francis is a pretty impressive talent.

Re: Should we trade for North’s pick 1
I think anyone at St Kilda would be happy with that. In fact they would be ecstatic and somewhat bemused that North's recruiting team are that dumb. One good player, one average player and an average pick does not get you a top 5 pick.
For North to even give it a thought you would need pick 9, future first rounder and a goodish player maybe Ross.

North have a potential superstar mid to pick
Wtf would they trade that???
Imagine if they took an overweight 193cm one position diabetic instead?!

Re: Should we trade for North’s pick 1
No club would be so stupid.
At 193cm the player would be too short to play in a key forward post as he would always be shorter than his opponent.
Beside he could never be an elite athlete and so even if he were to get a break on a lead, any defender would close that down easily.
When the ball hits the ground the defence would have a spare player.
He could not play anywhere else other than a key forward post because he would be too slow and only capable of one effort.
Put simply any club that stupid would deserve to never win a premiership.
The only way a group of men could be that stupid would be if they were trying to impress a female like Emma Quayle with their boldness.

Re: Should we trade for North’s pick 1
I"m hoping Sharman can turn out to be Saints' Fritsch. Fritsch is good at getting away from his defender on the lead and he keeps his feet in contests. He's also a lovely kick for goal. Here's hoping Sharman turns out as well.

They have knocked back pick 4 and two future first rounders, can’t see them saying no to Lonie, Battle and next to years third round pick!
