SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
up for comment and discussion:
NEW PENALTY SYSTEM
Warnings are no longer issued. They have not been a successful tool to maintain civility in the forum.
New penalties apply for breaches. A breach of rules will result in either a 1 DAY or 1 WEEK ban.
Three 1 WEEK bans will result in that poster nic being banned from posting in the Saintsational Fan Forum under that username / nic, although they will retain access to read the Fan Forum and post in the closed forums such as Animal Enclosure, General Forum etc. They can re-register under a NEW username / nic and then continue posting football related matters in the Saintsational Fan Forum. If a poster continues to offend under the new username / nic, the administrator may decide to ban them from ALL forum access.
PLEASE NOTE: The Animal Enclosure Forum is a members only forum covering the same topics but has a different set of rules and would better suit those that which to make some commentary on other posters, with less posting restrictions overall.

Re: SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
Fair enough in existing form. Does not warrant changing IMHO.
As I said before, I have no problem with existing rules.
This Rules Revision is an over reaction to something that was not really a problem for most of us.
Leave well enough alone, I say.

Re: SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
My only suggestions with the current system would be to
ONE
incorporate a "good behaviour" incentive for those who have copped one week bans.
E.G.: The removal of a weeks ban following a year of not receiving a one day / one week ban.
For those such as TB or JB who have been, were / are, regular & genuine posters, their ability to wipe their slate clean should be incentivised.
TWO
Forget the 3 strike rule, just double the penalty each time.
One week >>> Two weeks >>> Four weeks >>> Eight weeks & so on.
You can still include a "good behaviour" but this time it takes you back to your previous status.
If you had a received a one week ban, after a clean year you go back to zero.
If you had received an 8 week ban, after a clean year you go back to 4 week. It would take a further 3 clean years to get back to zero.
The "TEDs" of our posters would not survive / out last either system. These systems may just allow / save our more genuine & valued posters to regroup after what may have just been a bad moment.

Re: SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
This I like. Common sense, removes trolls, and factors in that all posters are human and can potentially get worked up occasionally and post things they would not have under calmer circumstances. Also allows the place to retain long term posters rather than having a system that will automatically expel them if reported 3 times in say, twenty years!! The current system is akin to saying that if you get 3 speeding fines, in total, ever, you are banned from driving for the rest of your life..........Ghost Like wrote: ↑Mon 27 Sep 2021 11:21pm My only suggestions with the current system would be to

any evidence based view on the Animal Enclosure
would show it as a complete waste of time
it's not used
whats the point of it ?
besides some supposed opportunity
to blatantly and openly abuse some cat with a different opinion to ones self
how is that helpful ?

Yeah, just go over to Big Footy if you want to be abused, or even if you don't want the abuse, they'll do it anyway.asiu wrote: ↑Wed 29 Sep 2021 2:51pm any evidence based view on the Animal Enclosure

what an absolute waste of an asset
send em into the Animal Enclosure then
let em duke it out in there
needs some sort of redemption angle
but the basic premise works

Unless it's too cumbersome to administer, I go along with these suggestions.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Mon 27 Sep 2021 11:21pm My only suggestions with the current system would be to

Re: SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
I would like to propose a rule for posters who post any reference to GT or RL that places the offending poster in a cyber head lock for one week and all other posters are allowed to give that poster a cyber wedgee (without consequences)...for that whole week.

At this rate, any rule revisions should be been enacted by November 2022.

Re: SAINTSATIONAL RULE REVISION; PART 2 - PENALTIES
it feels like there's a different vibe
birthing
... a more conciliatory/allowing environment
incorporating an intentful tempering
of the antagonistic/argumentative
(whilst thankfully , incorporating the 'pisstake'
... the being aussie bit)
i would hope
there's some stats
on the (non ?) usage of the report function
that supports this perception
