FAN FORUM RULE REVISION - INTRODUCTION

Hi

I am hoping that we can conduct a revision of the Saintsational Fan Forum rules and try to do so in an orderly and fair fashion.

A topic (in relation to the rules) will be discussed each week and will be located in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section of the Fan Forum.

ALL opinions will be sought on the topic.

POLLS will not be used as a number of people have multiple identities and the polls are anonymous and therefore they cannot be ""one voice, one vote".

HOWEVER posts can be reviewed to take into account multiple identities and therefore decisions will be made on a qualitative rather than quantitative basis.

The one factor that will remain in place is that Australian and Victorian laws do place some responsibility with site owners and administrators in terms of what they allow to be published by posters. Areas such as online bullying, racism, sexism etc have implications for the individuals and the site itself.

The first topic will be posted on Monday 13 September.

all we need is a bit of fairness. i.e. one week bans get written off after a year. if two in a year only one gets written off per year. as it is a poster could have earned a couple over years and years and not even remember them, especially after a drink or two. then an innocent little breach and bang - gone.
and where a ban is contested and overturned any effect of the ban is removed - i.e. no loss of identity. if the vast majority think any punishment is too severe then it is to severe. we can't be held to the standards of individual posters who take offence where a reasonable person and the majority of the forum wouldn't. we have a few so one eyed in their views they fail to understand that on here, the only partisanship that should have any bearing is to st kilda, not to a political party, or any of the trending social issues.

That's the point.

With POLLS there is no way to tell who voted for what.

Every nic gets one vote.

So if you have 5 mics on here you can vote 5 times.

But if you post an actual opinion on here, the system alerts the admin to the other nics you post under.

It even gives us the power to change the nic name for the post. That has never been done.
