AFL's Brownlow Predictor
Just saw the current predicted leaderboard and it reminded me of how much we've stuffed up our recruiting.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
AFL.COM.AU'S BROWNLOW PREDICTOR
32 Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs) ..... Could have recruited this guy instead of Billings
31 Clayton Oliver (Melbourne)
25 Christian Petracca (Melbourne) ..... Could have recruited this guy instead of McCartin
25 Jack Steele (St Kilda)
24 Darcy Parish (Essendon) ..... Could have recruited this guy if we didn't trade out our pick for Carlisle
4 saints out of top 5 in the Brownlow.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
Not exactly. Essendon still had a pick ahead of us. They selected Aaron Francis with the Carlisle pick.

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
Hindsight expert .
Reality is only Petracca was a blatent mistake made by someone / a group spooked by Tom Boyd's contract as and a desire to be the morally respected club.
Melbourne before they traded had Billings 2 Roos himself said that.
Parish has been seen as a wasted pick until this year and we got how many good years from Carlisle/
Plenty of errors made by recruiters/football department but this is a bit harsh

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
Could not have got Darcy Parish. Is Aaron Francis a Brownlow favourite?
Instead of a second round pick for Steele we could have traded a first and third round pick for Brett Deledio.

Coulda shoulda …..doesn’t matter coulda got bont then we mightn’t have got king , one action leads to other probables outcomes. Every club makes errors in drafting

Petracca was the big one. Imagine him and Steele running around in the middle…

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
Oliver as a Brownlow Medal winner just does not seem right. Bont a deserving winner sure, but Oliver, tha'ts like suggesting Shane Woewoden could win. A parting joke from Margetts?

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
We would have played Daniel as a small forward and been frustrated with his inconsistent output

Re: AFL's Brownlow Predictor
If we took Bont at 3 I'd say we wouldn't have had pick 1 the following year.

I don't know if he was gone or not and can't be f***ed looking him up, but in any event having a little midget running around in a helmut is a bad look.

25 Jack Steele (St Kilda)
24 Darcy Parish (Essendon) ..... Could not have recruited this guy as our pick would have been the next pick.
