Think we need to give him another season. We got him on to do a job and he hasn't had the chance.

He retired from the Hawks because his body was cooked, and it still is.

Tell him thanks for trying, see you later.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Have we actually taken an injury plagued or banged up player from another club and actually turned them into a reliable player ?

Off the top of my head these were all busts ..

Frawley
McKernan
Hannebury
Carlisle
Freeman

Can anyone think of any "wins"?

No but there were a few more duds...smith from the roos for one.

Was Delaney and Penny banged up? Pretty certain Delaney was.

Delaney definitely was. He was shredding quads whilst he was at Essendon and then didn't get much better when he got to Freo. And then we took him! With Gavin 'Porno' Mitchell (and Sean Charles + Tony Francis). Thanks Timmy :(

Aaah Gavin Mitchell…
Pbly the number 1 player that people have pretended to be on this forum… reckon we had at least 3 ‘Gavin Mitchells’ on this forum in the 10 years after he retired/was delisted

Was Farren Ray or simply maligned by the Doggy supporters. He turned out a astute pick up for us.

Got to love the optimism
Geary 6 to 8 weeks but not out for the season.
What, he may be available if the Saints make the grand final.

They were going to be fine but Timmy could not source the Thymosin Beta 4.

I saw him the other week, he's in great nick, a huge man who I'm sure would still be better than our ruck back ups.

We certainly picked up some "used" ruckmen over the years. Wow jones, and King for example.

And others whose names escape me at the moment.

Aaron Fiora was another player that came to St Kilda (from Richmond) and ended up with career ending injury in 2008 and a premature retirement at just 27 years of age.

On Chips, I can't imagine he'll be given another year, he may not even expect one, far better to scour the minor leagues and scout for another Cooper Sharman, Tom Highmore, Callum Wilkie, an unknown 21- 25 year old to get a chance to play on the big stage.

He was maligned by Dogs supporters in EXACTLY the same way that Billings is by St Kilda 'supporters'. He was pick 4 in the 03 draft and Billings was a pick 3. The only saving grace for Farren was that Bont wasn't taken immediately after him. To be fair the Top 15 in the 03 draft is horrendous outside of Walker and Cooney. Farren was a bloody good player and perfectly suited to the Lyon era - amazing elite runner and a great overhead mark for his size. He fitted us perfectly and was a much better player at the Saints than Dogs
