Max Lynch
Hope we're into this guy, reportedly will be looking at his options this off season.
Beat Gawn when he played this year and like ryder/Marshall can go forward if required.

Re: Max Lynch
Would be the perfect backup, definitely an upgrade on Hunter & McKernan. If recruiting Ben King becomes an option, he would become a priority.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jul 2021 6:07am Hope we're into this guy, reportedly will be looking at his options this off season.

Re: Max Lynch
Like the looks of this guy, but we’re probably more likely to land Mason Cox, who Collingwood will be looking to offload to give Lynch an opportunity. I don’t rate Cox as a forward, but I guess he could be useful as a ruck option if he has the tank. Would prefer the younger option though.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jul 2021 6:07am Hope we're into this guy, reportedly will be looking at his options this off season.

Re: Max Lynch
Cox doesn’t have the tank, hence why the pies don’t play him in the ruck much at all. He is also 30 years old so is unlikely to change his capabilities to do so.bigcarl wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jul 2021 4:30pmLike the looks of this guy, but we’re probably more likely to land Mason Cox, who Collingwood will be looking to offload to give Lynch an opportunity. Re: Max Lynch
Collingwood mate of mine said on Friday that the Saints should lure him.
With Grundy on his huge contract he won't get a look in ,and has been going well in the VFL.
Would be a good get
Heath as developing ruckman, Hunter and McKernan and Alabakis out the door

Re: Max Lynch
If Harves does not get the job at Collingwood, I'd like to think he'd come home & bring Lynch if he deems him good enough & gettable.

Re: Max Lynch
Same was true of Draper when we went after him.
Had we have got him I believe our season would be in different shape right now.

Re: Max Lynch
I hope our recruiters add
"Who has B.M heard of?"
To the criteria they look at moving forward.
Draper had not played an AFL game, Lynch had and did well.
In no way am I saying he is better than Draper, just that it isn't true to say "he is not even an AFL player"

Re: Max Lynch
Is he playing in the AFL at the moment?!
He’s behind
Grundy, Darcy, Cox at Collingwood
Grundy is a gun so fair enough
Darcy is ok and has potential
Cox is a Gumby
Lynch is down the pecking order - why
And I believe the next ruckman we recruit can also play forward, so Marshall can rotate with him. Can Lynch play forward?
I’d say no, otherwise he’d be playing now. They have a s*** forward line

Re: Max Lynch
Do we really have to wait for a player to get a Brownlow vote, a Top 10 B&F before we recruit him or encourage him?
If that were to be the case, we could kiss goodbye to Marshall, Connolly, Byrnes, Bytel...all players discarded by posters on here after their efforts in the VFL or one or two or ten games in the Seniors.
I do not understand the reluctance to encourage kids or in the case of ruckmen, young men.
We bemoan our development of players but it seems some of our supporters are equally inept.

Lynch is still growing into his tall frame. He needs to gain some bulk to play as a ruckman but he has upside and he can play forward

Re: Max Lynch
He’s 200 and 100kg so it’s not like he’s a skinny kid
Steele was a far different proposition
We cherry picked him out of a ridiculous GWS talent pool!
And he’d played games there, and dominated 2s and was a relatively high DP being starved of opportunity
Tim Membrey the same
