Re: Coaches Votes Round 19 v Eagles
See On the Couch bit where Jones doesn't go, Waterman marks and then Zac blast poor Coff. Who gives it back to him, rightly.
Disconnect between senior and younger players? Jones 2 votes is interesting. I guess it was from Simmo.

Re: Coaches Votes Round 19 v Eagles
Our match day thread had people bagging Coff for his efforts in that contest. Just amazing what some people see.

Re: Coaches Votes Round 19 v Eagles
It was Coffields opponent
Zac Jones was doing what most mids would do from a long ball entry, stay down and rove the pack.
He probably should have gone, but he wouldn’t of expected an uncontested mark from a long entry.
Coffield was expecting Jones to contest and he waited for a spill.
There is an argument either way, but Coff does this far too often
(Staying down, when he should be contesting in the air) he is 190cm and needs to play taller than he can do sometimes

Re: Coaches Votes Round 19 v Eagles
By who??
He was off to the side of the contest waiting for a spill.
Jones probably should have gone, even as a mid you need to go if you can make a contest.
He was hoping a defender would spoil
Coffield was hoping Jones would contest the mark
That’s why they argued.
IMO both should have gone

Re: Coaches Votes Round 19 v Eagles
Waterman clearly wanted separation and Coff made a choice to allow Waterman free.
Coff has eyes on the ball as it is in flight and he has obviously let his man loose
Coff has to be smarter to avoid the block and get a spoil in or be more desperate to try and contest in the pack. He did neither.
