Think I got poo pooed when I suggested earlier in the season that Jack stood a chance.

I love Jack. Gives his heart and soul every week, but I don't reckon he's in the absolute elite category of mids. Not far off mind you just not quite as damaging as the very best like The Bont and Petracca and Danger, Fyfe etcsaynta wrote: ↑Wed 14 Jul 2021 4:04pm https://www.afl.com.au/news/647454/brow ... me-stretch

Maybe not the Bont or the Tractor but Steele has gone past Dangerfield and Fyfe. IMHFO, that is.
He was third in the Brownlow last year. Will you change your mind if he wins it this year?

He performs the work of 2 players.
He's A Grade.
As good as, or better than, the guys you mentioned

Don’t know if Steele will win as many accolades as Nat Fyfe, but I see him as a similar sort of playerMoods wrote: ↑Wed 14 Jul 2021 5:33pmI love Jack. Sometimes people don’t value a player until he actually wins a Brownlow medal or wins several Best and Fairests at their club. I think Jack is matching the elite mids of the comp and I have no doubt that he’ll soon have 2 B&F medals and be All Australian - 2 years running
The tv commentators get very excited when someone like Petracca goes anywhere near the footy, but if you look at the awards and accolades for Steele and Petracca, they’re very similar…… as are the stats. Steele is better in some areas and doesn’t turn it over as much as Petracca. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 1=S&fid2=S
Brucey used to get excited with Nat Fyfe… Who could forget when Bruce couldn’t stop shaking Fyfe’s hand up on the podium when Nat won his first medal? If Bruce McAvaney was commentating now …I reckon he’d love to get a chance to hold on to Jack
