Wonder if Higgins out will help Butler?

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
I think Higgins plays a very different style to Butler
Higgins hits up at the footy
Butler is a classic front and centre crumber

Announced on Channel 7 that Hanebury is playing for Sandringham.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

And will probably do a hammy again.
Bloke is a gun when fit...such a shame about how things have transpired.

Is Higgins injured? I think he’s in better form than Butler.

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
so probably being managed? He is still relatively young in terms of his footy career and he's played every game (including practice matches this season). Maybe more of a general soreness issue rather than a serious injury.
Hope you're back soon Jack!

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
That's 3 players now who are having back problems. Gresh also had a back issue which led to him doing his Achilles I reckon.
I thought one small player having a back issue was interesting. Unusual that 2 small players are having back issues.

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
Higgins has had a big season. He covers a lot of ground and gets involved in a lot of contests. Not surprising that a kid his age is sore with that workrate.
I hope we haven't rushed Jones back too soon. It seems like the club has decided that we have one last crack and staying in the finals picture and they're risking bringing key players back underdone (Marshall previously).
It's a pleasant surprise to hear about Hanners but I'm not counting on him ever playing more than a handful of games in a season

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
Good to see Higgins getting a (well earned) break. Marshall, Jones, Hannebery, and Geary (if he gets right) are all mature bodied senior players, and there is no tomorrow. On good coin and there is still 7 rounds to go. We can't keep playing for tomorrow as tomorrow never comes.mad saint guy wrote: ↑Fri 09 Jul 2021 9:29am Higgins has had a big season. I want us to try to win as many matches as we can this season - it is probably not going to be our year, but if we start resting players in early July, players will drop their heads and that would be an absolute disaster with games against the Lions (interstate), Port Adelaide, Eagles (in Perth), and Geelong at Geelong. If we don't go into those matches with our best 22 and a positive mindset, we could conceivably lose all of them by 10 or 12 goals (or more!). I am personally sick and tired of us going to Geelong and going through the motions, and not turning up in any of our games against Port Adelaide. That attitude needs to stop.
With our percentage, no matter how many games we win, we will always finish under teams who have the same number of wins as us anyway, so we will certainly get the draft position we deserve, but you don't get anywhere at this level if you don't use all resources at your disposal to win.
Winning any of the matches against the Lions, Power, Eagles and Cats will be tough anyway, as the Saints usually play to the script, so I would say winning two of those four games would be seen as a big tick, and winning one out of four a satisfactory pass mark, as well as avoiding any blow outs.

Re: Team v Lions Jones for Higgins
Please, please play Long forward. The only time he should enter the back line is when running on and off the ground.
Like McKenzie before hm under Richo too many mistakes too close to the scoring area of our opponents.
Kent or Joyce to be sub my guess and Battle to get a full game under his belt for Sandy.
Battle- teams have exploited his weakness this year, as a winger , putting their quicker wingman on the same side. Started with Melb and happened a few times from there.
Go back get some confidence .

Higgins has turned out to be a great get, he will only get better and has the potential to be a genuine star for 10 years.
