QRe: Dougal Howard
Can I address this as genuinely as possible?
If you are passionate about the Sainters - we're already mentally unstable.
Now, lose a game and at BEST we'll rip the teets off the nearest person....at worst we'll b!tch 'n moan and attack everyone associated with the club ( notice how unfit the runners are lately? And, the janitors at Morrabbin are overworked with the amount of sh1t down there - but that still doesn't excuse lack of urine cakes).
Then we all get our game day red black and white silk panties in a twist and rage on about how we never rage on and anyone who defies us is a baiting b@stard.
At present the club is suffering - there's lots of reasons.
Several have alluded to it and we all should get it but the weekly boot to plums means we think we'll never dance again, our feet don't have no rhythm.
We had massive kpp injuries at season start, we have limited depth, coaches scrambled moving players about to try to cover roles. Players get pressured, chaos ensues, a few weeks of this and team unity, trust for a player in a position weakens, self doubts erupt, weariness settles in, as losses mount mindsets wobble and even solid resolves crack. These seasons highlight imperfections and those unstable among us ( all), pick at every imperfection and scream "I've found the cause of this sh1t season" !!
We all do it. Hell, have you read my posts? A months ago I was roasting Ratts b@lls over the coals of hell; demanding he not only resign, but move to New Zealand.
Get aggro, say your piece, then admit you, me, we, love the Sainters and arent really jack of them or anyone on here, just a tad EXTRA unstable after a loss.

I know this is off topic but maybe all our bad luck is due to Roughead. He’s a nice guy and everything (so was Cho, but look how well that ended) and our bad fortune this year started with him and I reckon the bloke is a jinx
Anyhow…with that post by SAINT-LEE.. I have no idea what he’s talking about….

I don't blame Roughy for our bad luck but along the same lines of venting and frustration and looking for scapegoats as SAINT-LEE alluded to, I was just posting something silly.

Re: Dougal Howard
I'm still in wonderment at a life ban & no new posters. I do not want to lose posters with a point of difference or posters with a quick wit that usually offends the not so quick.
Can this life ban change to a doubling of their previous suspension for each subsequent transgression.
1 week >>> 2 weeks >>> 4 weeks >>> 8 weeks etc etc.
With each year that passes without a transgression they return to a previous mark.
Otherwise this place will become very insular if it's not already there.

Re: Dougal Howard
Nah bro, you're not silly it's Spot on. There's chatter Roughead is actually the anti-Saint. If I can get a few blokes to help we can hold him down, shave his head and see if there's a 1873 tattoo on his skull. If so, he's clearly not the he-devil we fear with baited breath.Scollop wrote: ↑Sun 20 Jun 2021 10:51am I know this is off topic but maybe all our bad luck is due to Roughead. Yep, he & Wilkie are a handy duo. Highmore also. Add a big key back & those three will have a lot of fun in the back half with Paton, Coffield & Sinclair.

Most of their attempts paid off, in a flukey performance.
The back 6 need to do it more consistently.
Don't forget our blowouts this yr.
You watch us take on the Cats soon, then we'll see how good they really are.

Wilkie has his detractors but I really like the dependable defender he’s turning into he’s abs agree with another solid tall back that unit starts to look really sound

Re: Dougal Howard
insaid it last year, and seen nothing to change my mind - howard the best of our recruits over the long term last year. probably the best over the short term as well, given the games paddy's missed. unsure how someone even decided to write a thread critiquing him. unless they've written ine on twenty others already?

I see your point but I fail to see the problem. I guess there is always an opportunity to be found and a new route to take.
For now, standing still, shaping up and getting the ship right, seems more than reasonable to me
