Re: Coaches message to Members
Ratten lost me when he started being publicly critical of the team - i.e they don't kick to Hill enough etc. I know as a player I would not have much time for a coach bagging the team I play in, and I think all is not rosey down at Linton St. amongst the group.

Agree with above. When a player has 6 touches and the coach comes out and bags the rest of the team for not using him enough and this is after repeated poor performances by said 1 million dollar player, then yea that ain’t going down well.

It could be called 'gaslighting' possibly.
But importantly, it's publicly driving a wedge between the squad, and instead of treating the guys as a team, it's demonstrating a huge preference for one guy and throwing the rest under the bus.
It's like in a very large family, each kid passing Yr 12 gets a certain reward, except one (the Golden Child) is given a car

He was right
I’ve seen how Hill brings the ball into forward 50
I’ve seen how Dunstan does
I want Hill distributing I think

Not sure why you're not a Dunstan fan.
If his disposal is unpredictable, the defenders will be caught out.
Ok, maybe all our forwards are caught out as well

I like Dunstan
Wish he’d restrict his disposals to “what I can do” only and leave anything risky out
Clint Jones learnt to handball lots for example
Dunstan good depth only I’d keep if we can he only plays in emergency

Re: Coaches message to Members
I agree
What's baffling though is that Hill was struggling on the wing and they've now decided to start him in the backline
How the hell is he going to distribute to anyone in the forward line when he spends most of his time deep in defense?
It's as if it's more important to give Hill (the individual) opportunities to get disposals and possessions, rather than give St Kilda (the team) opportunities to score

Been interesting he’s done well off half back but I agree I’d like him forward of centre moreScollop wrote: ↑Wed 16 Jun 2021 4:48amI agree

Re: Coaches message to Members
Dunstan coming of age as a tagger.
Hill needs to be run out of the backline. He needs to be closer to the contest which is the roll of a half back. Hill is getting lost out on the wing. He is too easily tagged out of the game or over looked as a target as he has an opponent standing next to him.
