Team this week
IN: Ben Long, Jack Lonie, Paul Hunter
OUT: Jarryn Geary (Injured), Oscar Clavarino (Omitted), Sebastian Ross (Managed), Tim Membrey (Managed)
Future does not look bright for Oscar Clavarino if he can still be omitted when we're struggling to field a team this weekend

Re: Team this week
OMG shouldn't Lonie and Hunter be named in the Crows' side?
They're not gonna help us.
Will they have 'score assists' counted when the Crows score off the back of these guys' actions?

I thought he showed glimpses of what he could develop into in his 2 games but it seems the hierarchy doesn't agree...bangaulegend wrote: ↑Thu 10 Jun 2021 7:47pm I don't get it I mean I just don't get it Clav hasn't set the world on fire but at least give the poor bast--d a chance to show what he can do

Re: Team this week
Or Dunstan. No one on Match Committee must have a working set of eyes if they though # 7’s output of last week was even remotely acceptable.

Re: Team this week
Agreed. And given His limited experience … his output has been better than Frawley in his position. Let him play - we’re not playing finals - give him a runsilverhalo wrote: ↑Thu 10 Jun 2021 7:49pmI thought he showed glimpses of what he could develop into in his 2 games but it seems the hierarchy doesn't agree...bangaulegend wrote: ↑Thu 10 Jun 2021 7:47pm I don't get it I mean I just don't get it Clav hasn't set the world on fire but at least give the poor bast--d a chance to show what he can do

Re: Team this week
selection this week is puzzling - players with a history of being in and out of the side who cannot be the future selected before those with a future (possibly). This says so much about our list and depth and our recruiting decisions that any hope that we may see a side competitive in 2022 is a forlorn one.
I have been a saints man for more than 50 years - we have always had the solace of seeing some of the best players of all time running around in our colours-
this team cannot even provide that! (apologies to Jack Steele and Roma)

Re: Team this week
Just saw the lineup and thought I’d come here for the melt
Far out! No bytel?
Clav out? I really thought he showed good steps forward in his 2nd match?
Hunter? f*** me he is one of the shittest players I’ve literally ever seen

Through no fault of his own. Club not giving him a decent crack. Shown some good signs, but dropped before coming up against a tall forward line. Work that one out.silverhalo wrote: ↑Thu 10 Jun 2021 7:38pm Future does not look bright for Oscar Clavarino if he can still be omitted when we're struggling to field a team this weekend

He wasn't great.
Highmore was better.
It's not a training run. We want four premiership points.
I'd guess they value Clav in the long run ahead of many they've picked for Cairns, but that doesn't mean you don't take the old tools to do the job. Those others, Dunstan etc., can be relied on, no?
I think giving him a couple of games was a good thing. He'll be back, unless it is one of those Freeman situations.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Team this week
Agree with that. It's just that in my world having Clav in the team increases our chances of winning, and Dunstan would be the last player that comes to mind when I think of the word "reliable". Not joking, I'd rather have the ball in the hands of Alabakis. There's a reason the opposition never man him up. Sure he cracks in, but so does Bytel, and I'd rather Bytel's skills. And we already have Steele and Crouch, no need to carry Dunstan. These are no brainers to me, but everyone is different.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Fri 11 Jun 2021 12:06amMaybe, he'll be OK.Munga wrote: ↑Thu 10 Jun 2021 11:36pmThrough no fault of his own. Bytel has to play
Course we are not training, that has been the last 12 weeks, the season starts now right?
Our player development is woeful

Clav should have been retained this week.
