Votes v Swans
No faulting the endeavour all day.
5. Jack Steele . There is a danger in taking for granted how good this bloke is. A real leader.
3. Tim Membrey . Great at both ends . Always gives an option.
2. Brad Crouch . Superb inside .
2. Jack Higgins. Wonderful endeavour . Almost a super super game, but 1.6 ..
1. Brad Hill. Much better .
1. Callum Wilkie . Such a steady influence down back.
1. Paddy Ryder. I love this bloke.

No way Higgins gets in the best with 1.6 shocking outcome for a forward.

Re: Votes v Swans
How many metres gained for Sinclair?
Both Sincs and Hill are considered outside players
By the way, of his 25 possessions Hill had only 1 contested and obviously zero clearances. Sinclair from his 29 touches managed to get 8 contested and 2 clearances.
Hill got credited with 2 tackles but not sure whether they were effective. I often see (and it happened again against the Swans) Hill tries to tackle with his hands and arms. He doesn’t want to burrow in and drive his shoulder and his body into his opponent. One particularly poor effort cost us a goal at a crucial time in the game.

Re: Votes v Swans
Do we understand what we got when we recruited Hill?!
He’s not Lenny Hayes!!!
He’s not an inside mid
He is the epitome of an outside player, he’s not even someone who could go inside for periods, he’s entirely outside! which is fine, because you need outside run and class
Which is why recruited him
We have Steele, Ross, Crouch, Dunstan, Bytel, Hannebery, Jones and Gresham to play inside.
We have Billings, Hill, Sinclair and maybe Clark who can receive, run, carry and deliver.
I think we expect him to be something he’s not, he’s an elite runner with skill that’s it.

Re: Votes v Swans
Yeah I pretty much expected him to be what we recruited him for an elite outside runner with silky skills . Unfortunately for Brad opposition teams recognise this as well & put a hard tag on him & he struggles to cope with it. In a better team he would get a chop out but at the Saints he doesn't so makes his job a lot harder hence he has struggled to live up to the expectation . I don't blame Brad but I think his contract was poorly handled by the club too much money for too long but IMO anywayB.M wrote: ↑Sun 06 Jun 2021 8:30pm Do we understand what we got when we recruited Hill?!

Then why are we playing him off the back flank?B.M wrote: ↑Sun 06 Jun 2021 8:30pm Do we understand what we got when we recruited Hill?!

If you’re playing in the backline you have to be able to defend and win one-on-ones occasionally, both things he is hopeless at.
