Regardless what happens for the remainder of the game King & Hill both have to be dropped next week. Both simply arent prepared to work hard enough!
The reality is with the players we have out we are a bottom 4 side.

Hill (lowest ranked player) 3 touches, 0 tackles
Dunstan (highest ranked player) 13 touches, 8 tackles AND doing a job on Cunnington.
I think there’s a few around here who have quite a bit of egg on their face right now.
Also, no way Hill can play next week.

Deja vu.
31 points up at half time when we are dominating.
Kudos to Dunstan, not only stopping our nemesis Cunnington and winning his own ball.

I don’t think anyone’s ever suggested that Dunstan is incapable of playing good games...
He’s a senior player and has been for a while. Needs to do it a lot more and against better opposition
Hopefully this is the turning point for him

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 11 2021
Steele running through the middle and he has a choice of kicking it to King or kicking it to a small
King wasn’t leading towards Jack so Steele kicked it to Butler.
They don’t trust King and King doesn’t trust himself.
The 1 vote encouragement award was counter productive as is the fact that Max is earning match payments in the seniors while his confidence and the confidence of his teammates goes down the toilet.

The kicking at goal is a fkn disgrace
Players devoid of confidence
Howard thinks he’s a lot better than he is!!!!

Any chance we can move King away from the goals and let him get a few touches without the pressure of goalkicking?

No. He just needs to keep presenting. This is how resilience is built!whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 29 May 2021 6:53pm Any chance we can move King away from the goals and let him get a few touches without the pressure of goalkicking?

I very much think a number of posters on here directly stated that Dunstan isn’t AFL standard, which is clearly incorrect.

OR play him out of the goal square and give him space to work into.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 29 May 2021 6:55pmNo. He just needs to keep presenting. Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 11 2021
This is why you nip it in the bud early. As soon as Hill was squibbing contests or failing to work hard enough he needed to be dropped.
King needed to be dropped for different reasons but he was also an energy sapping negative as far as the TEAM is concerned. His yips and his lack of confidence was effecting the team. They just keep playing these blokes when it is seriously NOT in the long term interests of the individual OR the team
Selection integrity has been abysmal. Is Lethlean and Finnis on the selection committee?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 11 2021
You are kidding right? Dunstan has done a reasonable job, but his kicking is still lazy and not AFL standard. How many opposition players in the AFL are as slow as Cunnington, the only other is Dunstan? So Dunstan has one match up equivalents for 23 games.

Well at least the umpiring has been surprisingly good.
They are the best on the ground!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 11 2021
Worst team in the league....Saints winning by not 10 or 15 goals....5.
There is a funk that only the playing group can address. Geary has been a great colonel about the ground in his tenure, but because stupid afl culture
we can't have players who could be generals in the locker room because they're too young or aren't talented enough on field.
How fit is St Nick? With this new style the forwards can just sit and eat sangers until the ball comes bombing in....or maybe Fevola.
Seen that summabitch running around last year kicking mad goals. Not much left in the speed but he was jumping pretty high and snatching marks 3 on 1 in country footy. Some think that doesn't count but in country footy you get defiled...no whistles to stop the flogging. Seen blokes get tomahawked across the nose, blood everywhere....no call.
There's a few running around. A great Tiger defender is playing at Seymour and he looked unfrickin believable....we could ask him if he'd have a crack?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 11 2021
Agreed, he's just coming across as really lazy. How often in a game do you see him at full pace? Maybe it's confidence but maybe he's just got to go at 100% for 2 or 3 leads at a time.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 29 May 2021 6:57pmOR play him out of the goal square and give him space to work into.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 29 May 2021 6:55pmNo. He just needs to keep presenting.
