Re: Claverino to debut
Well win, lose or draw at least with Oscar debuting there will be something to watch in terms of seeing how he goes.

Re: Claverino to debut
Nah, it's understandable. Cost nothing, not long term.
Playing him is the mistake. He might come good in the latter half of the year though.

Dunstan for Bytel
Clavarino for Frawley
Coffield for Clark
Wood for Lonie instead of Long.
With nobody left impossible (and really stupid) to drop Hill/Butler etc as a statement...
We wanted Lonie, Frawley, McKernan out and we got that.
Too many changes to add Connolly.
Long the sub?
So all in all a fair result I reckon.
Now they just have to crack in for the whole game.

Re: Claverino to debut
It's been a long time coming and I hope he lives up to the expectations, my concern is the selection process in that video clip. One player picks another player and without explaining his reasoning why he picked him he's in the team. This could explain a lot of our current woes. I just hope he has a win in his first game, not just for him but for the fans.

I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the process.flack wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 11:58am It's been a long time coming and I hope he lives up to the expectations, my concern is the selection process in that video clip. Just another ham fisted attempt to announce the first game for a new player.

I'd rather that than McKernan. He was putrid as both a forward and a ruck.

Re: Claverino to debut
Spot on. In a season that's turned to utter dog shite - my one hope was that we'd get 20 games into Bytel and 15+ into Byrnes. I have no idea what we're trying to achieve by playing Dunstan. It's a known quantity.saynta wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 11:45amOne would hope Bytel is the sub.minneapolis wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 2:44amST KILDAsaynta wrote: ↑Thu 27 May 2021 8:15pmStill not a bad side in the circumstances.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Thu 27 May 2021 8:13pm B Callum Wilkie Dougal Howard Jimmy Webster

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

It was f****** good to see. Certainty to lose after thrashing us. There is a pattern.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 29 May 2021 12:02amIt’s being present.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 3:13pmSpot on. Re: Claverino to debut
Worse thing for me is that I hate those down hill skiers more than I detest the doggies.
My missus asked me before the game who I was going for. I told her I was hoping that there was a way both sides could lose.
s*** team from a s*** suburb.

Re: Claverino to debut
even though , they tend to despise us
and would have set themselves
to smash us
and to enjoy smashing us
they are still my 2nd favourite team
(just to piss em off)
though , i do generally like the way they go about things
on the footy field
(and a little bit of despisation
is a good thing to experience
for a Saints tragic)
+
they are the only other mob
i can practice humbleness on

How did everyone think he went?
Didn’t really do anything overly impressive for mine, maybe that tackle early but looked shaky mostly

Re: Claverino to debut
He took a lovely intercept mark and nearly took another.
I didn't see enough of the game to make an assessment.
Needs another few weeks to know for sure.

Oscar now has the first one over and done with, hope he builds on it against Sydney.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Claverino to debut
First game I will cut him some slack wasn't great IMO but I'm happy to keep playing him to give him a chance to see if he has what it takes . We need to see if these blokes can get to the next level no point being on the list if you can't deliver . Our season is pretty much done so lets just see who has it & who doesn't

Better than Highmore who arguably play the same role.
