Lethlean’s appearance
I have written elsewhere on our seeming lack of culture.
To me (and i normally don’t care too much for grooming etc) Lethlean comes across slovenly and casual (which in a way sums up our game)
In a crucial interview yesterday, he was unshaven (as opposed to trendy stubble) which made him look like he had been on a two day bender and he wore nothing to signify he was a ST Kilda Spokesperson.
You know what on a day when all of us are still fuming I want to see him take this seriously by at least looking like he does. Not like someone just dragged in from playing the pokies.
Yes, this is trivial, but small things added together .....

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
I agree if you are doing a media interview on behalf of your employer who are under the pump, at least shave and look half professional. Perhaps he knows half the clubs problem is his recruuting...?

You're right, he's representing our club and not a pack of bums from New Jersey. Look sharp Simon, you're getting well paid to handle a difficult and responsible job. Look the part and be professional.

Maybe he should have gone the European 16th century renaissance style fashion route

Absolute rubbish tell that to the Swans of 05, the Hawks of forever, the Cats, the current Tigers
You need to read a little about success

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
What about those teams?
They had good players
Inject all of the culture you want into North Melbourne
They ain’t winning
I agree, good footballers win games of footy and create a culture of winning.
Rest is bulls***

He'd probably been up all night shagging that new blonde chick on work experience in the Legal Dept.

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
Interesting .... you could argue numerous premiership sides throughout the VFL/AFL years have had shitty cultures - West Coast throughout the 90s & 00s for example ..... its just that they had great footballers who delivered when it was required.
Its funny that culture only ever comes up when a side is doing badly

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
Culture is the most overused word in footy. It's also the misunderstood word in footy.
Saying the word ≠ understanding culture, how to create it, build it and preserve it.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Chicken and egg discussion. Ratts is about to show us which he thinks comes first, I hope all the uncultured get pasturised. VFL seems a good pasture and suitably hot response.

It was the CULTURE of letting the players get away with too much (just because they were winning) that was put under the spotlight especially by the east coast media ( the west coast guys were too close )
It has since been aired publicly and addressed by the footy dept.

So you agree then that West Coast had a cultural problem?sunsaint wrote: ↑Wed 26 May 2021 6:48pmcompletely disagreeDevilhead wrote: ↑Wed 26 May 2021 12:18amInteresting .... you could argue numerous premiership sides throughout the VFL/AFL years have had shitty cultures - West Coast throughout the 90s & 00s for example ..... its just that they had great footballers who delivered when it was required.

And you also agree that their cultural problem only came to light later down the track .... well after their period of success?

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
Lethlean had one inter office affair with another adult a year before joining the club ...... not sure how that has catastrophically affected St Kilda's club culture ..... unless of course you have proof?

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
Lethlean was the messiah just a few weeks ago.
He’ll be ultimately judged on what he does next because they clearly thought we were going to challenge.
What’s the plan? What comes next?
A few big decisions need to be made.

Re: Lethlean’s appearance
yes to both replies
the weagles did have a culture problem in that the club ignored anything the players did outside the club The culture included win at all costs ignore the rest ( and try to cover up as much as possible)
Two things in their favour at the time was the isolation & west coast press and Im pretty sure the AFL drug testing rules was not as invasive back then
Devil Im going to assume you are old enough to remember that at the time M Gardiner came to us under a cloud of links to bikie drug dealer - no ???
Rl was on the record quoted as saying he didnt want choir boys hence why we got him, Lovett and was even photoed with Cousins in a saints jumper before the board put the kibosh on that
As for Lethlean you cant remember stories involving his party time in Sydney with said "junior"
