Votes v Cats
5. Seb Ross . Fatherhood seems to suit him. Part of an excellent midfield tonight.
4. Jack Steele . Another captain’s game.
3. Brad Crouch . At bottom of every pack.
1. Paddy Ryder . Huge workload for the big bloke.
1. Brad Hill. Best user of the ball.
1. Jack Sinclair. As with Hill, makes good decisions.
Also well done Bytel and Clark, amongst others .

Re: Votes v Cats
Boy Sinclair!!!! Really. Was watching him closely because I had him as part of a multi to get 15 touches for the match
Had 6 touches to half time... a big third quarter and didn’t touch the ball for close to 15min on the last quarter before getting 4 cheap touches once the game was over
I’m glad he got the touches but he was almost a complete non-factor in the game I thought. The love for the performance has shocked me

It's not all about the number of touches but how he used them, how he positioned his body and attacked the contest.skeptic wrote: ↑Fri 14 May 2021 11:51pm Boy Sinclair!!!! Really. Was watching him closely because I had him as part of a multi to get 15 touches for the match

Re: Votes v Cats
thought our backs were excellent tonight.
our mids were second to the ball but our pressure, led by steele and crouch was first rate.
steele
crouch
ryder
howard
wilkie
hill very good as well. heck a lot were good tonight. kicking into fifty was excellent, leading was excellent. then of course there was that final bit we kept stuffing up.

Don’t count possessions
Make possessions count
Thought Sinclair was very good, clean, creative and good defensively

Re: Votes v Cats
To suggest that Sinclair was better than Steele, Crouch and Ross is fantasy IMO
Make your possessions count... we’re his 6 touches to half time all goal assists!? I am really miffed by this. Not suggesting he was terrible but at best he was in the game for a 1/4

Of course Mids are going to win more footy
It’s their job
How many possessions did Cam Guthrie get? Mitch Duncan?
Maybe look that up?!

Re: Votes v Cats
Loved Sinclair’s game, rarely wastes a disposal & often parked himself in front of hawkins in the first half. For a small bloke I was pleasantly surprised with that part of his game.
and that's the bottom line

Re: Votes v Cats
He ran around the middle all night off the contest.
Got 4 touches in the first
2 in the second
Turned up to play in the third quarter with 7...
Was completely absent in the first 10-15 minutes of the last quarter when Geelong stepped up and we didn’t... with doughnuts. Did not touch the ball... then got four touches in junk time time
Stewart for them who also had 6 to half time finished the match with 23 really turning it on after 1/2 time
Valuing performances like Sinclair’s last night is a call back to the Tim Watson days when Trianedes, Plapp, Brown, Mitchell etc would do one or two nice things a match that stood out and were heaped in praise.
Can’t carry a player of SInclair’s talent and experience if he fades in and out of games like this

Re: Votes v Cats
I thought Sinclair ran off the half back line, picking up their smaller forwards. I don't think any of their small forwards got off the chain, so defensively he did a job. Offensively, he ran, created options and used his possessions. I thought his game was excellent.
