Seb Ross
Just a mention to Seb Ross who has been much maligned on this site ok his ball use can be questionable at times but his work ethic can't be & the last 2 weeks he has been very f---ing good

Re: Seb Ross
He was very good by foot today. He went inboard frequently and threaded the needle to hit a target low and fast which only comes from having confidence. Ironically he's having a good year.

Re: Seb Ross
Played as the outside receiver link up mid today and did a really good job!

Re: Seb Ross
Just a pretty good player, has been for 5 years
One day it’ll be accepted... hopefully
Don’t think he missed a target today?!

Re: Seb Ross
I noted to myself during the game the value of his short kicking in traffic to our advantage.
Bought back memories of R Harvey. Keep up the good work Seb.

Re: Seb Ross
He is a much better weapon when his mates are trying as hard as he does. He never stops trying but tends to panic when under the pump. Last night, he was shining.

Re: Seb Ross
The penny's dropped and he's simply playing within his limitations now because he now understands them. Also gone are the trying to "kick the skin off the ball" attempts he used to do, which almost always ended up in a turnover.
He's a better footballer for it. Really happy for him and the team.

Re: Seb Ross
Ball use and decision making so much better the last few weeks. Loving the running goals and goal attempts.
Seems to have more confidence.
Will always hold my breath when he goes to kick on the wing but he’s a good player and consistent contributor.

Which will only serve to piss a number of posters on this site off well and truly, but stuff 'em I say.
Well done Seb.

Re: Seb Ross
I like how people are saying he’s somehow developed into a better player because they have to admit he’s playing well.
2020 was a bit of a down year for him, although he tagged well at times
2016-2019 he was very good, as much as people with an agenda try to convince themselves otherwise

Re: Seb Ross
Big beneficiary of longer quarters as has a tank but not breakaway speed,. Disposal still hurts but running ability and toughness at the contest , as well as leadership is very important.

Re: Seb Ross
The main difference I noticed is that he kicked on his left foot more this week.
Too often, he runs onto his right-hand side to receive and wrong foots himself.
He needs to use the left and not overkick the footy. He did that well this week.

I think I understand what you might be saying but Seb is a natural left foot kick.Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Mon 03 May 2021 12:59pm The main difference I noticed is that he kicked on his left foot more this week.

Yes he is a natural left foot kick but he's caught on his right foot far too often.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Mon 03 May 2021 2:25pmI think I understand what you might be saying but Seb is a natural left foot kick.Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Mon 03 May 2021 12:59pm The main difference I noticed is that he kicked on his left foot more this week.

BM, Joffa Burns, saynta (no.1 ticket holder)...add your name to the list.
Very solid, reliable & durable B grade AFL player who appears to get every bit out of himself as a player.
Also a very humble and engaging young man for those who have had the pleasure of meeting him.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

Re: Seb Ross
He's in contention to win his 3rd B&F in 5 years. That's one way to look at somebody who doesn't get a lot of love.
Not saying he will, but he's started the year really well. His effort is high and he's noticeably quicker and more intense.
Remains a best 22 player, clearly.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: Seb Ross
You could start a thread on every player after that game.
It was a team effort
Last week it was hard to say anything nice about any of them.
Bloody annoying

Best 22??
He is best 4 atm
Steele, Marshall and Howard probably shade him so far this season as best players.

I started the OP to give credit where credit is due It was not my intention to single out Seb supporters or detractors . I have been a Seb supporter IMO & yeah I have been critical at times but I'm critical when IMO it's not good enough not just players sometimes the recruiting staff sometimes the club as a whole . I don't consider myself a fair weathered supporter but I'm not a blind faith supporter either .
