Re: Byrbes and Bytel
Bytel was at the start of at least three of our goals in the second quarter.
His first use is OFTEN, very, very good.

Re: Byrbes and Bytel
For his second game, Byrnes played in a very assured manner. Looks confident and composed with ball in hand.

Re: Byrbes and Bytel
Yeah Byrnes FFS. At least the OP could get their FFS names FFS correct FFFFS!

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
Ryan Byrnes showed more in 1 game than Jack Lonie has in 82. It's not opportunist goals that count, it's hard work around the ground when the opposition has the ball. Ryan is still very one sided, but if he works hard, that will improve.

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
Both showed they have potential to make us a competitive team in the long term but it's early days lets hope they continue to improve

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
Are you sure perfect?
Byrnes was ok
Lonie has kicked 4 goals three times
They played a mid forward today
Ross/Crouch/Steele rested forward, it seemed to work

Bytel 21 disposals with 8 tackles
Byrnes 18 disposals with 9 marks
Good days work by both

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
Bytel has a few tricks and Byrnes looked pretty good.
Unless there's a good reason not too, just play them every week.

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
With Gresham and Hannebery out, it is very important for team balance that both Bytel and Byrnes stepped up in midfield roles. This allowed Hill to play off half back, and also allowed extra midfielder rotations through half forward, which in turn meant we only needed two permanent small forwards. Of course the fact that we had the 2 big ruckmen in helped too !
No doubt there is stiffer opposition to come, but Bytel and Byrnes add to our structure and should be persevered with .

Re: Byrnes and Bytel
I’ve been advocating this for a while
Don’t carry 3 specialist smalls rest a mid
Think Steele looked dangerous up there at times too
Hill to HB
Coach didn’t have a bad day today
Lonie is trade bait
Keep Byrnes and Bytel playing we aren’t making finals so get some games into them
“Yeah….nah””

Re: Byrbes and Bytel
He is a competitive beast. Rarely fumbles and quick with those hands. Loved it when he stood up for his team mate when Zac was bumped late after taking a mark.
We’ve got some tough players in the team. Ryder, Marshall, Battle, Steele, Jones, Clark, and now Bytel are the blokes that can play angry and will carry their team mates with them. If Ben can control his emotions...add Long to that list as well.
