Billings played under duress against Richmond
There was an excuse for JB being down on possessions and effectiveness against the Tigers.
Ratts said that Billings tore his plantar fascia in the warm up before the game, and to his credit played under considerable duress.
Becoming a common injury at the Saints.

Credit to him. Explains the drop in output after a very good, very consistent first 4 rounds.

Re: Billings played under duress against Richmond
Have had this injury on and off for years from running.
It was explained to me that is was a difficult fix due to being a strong white tendon with minimal blood flow.
Can reoccur for years.
Short term solution for me was cortisone injections into the tendon but this masks the issues and breaks down the tendon if provided ongoing, long term fix was PRP where they draw blood, spin it and inject the platelets & some mix with cortisone back into the tendon.
Not a doctor, this is how I recall it being explained to me.
The complete tear is often seen as a solution but I believe it can cause other stability issues and make you susceptible to other foot injuries.

Yeah, just goes to show that the knockers don't know everything, but the knockers will still knock. It's just what they do.

A lot of us watched under duress too.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

I wonder why they played him then if it was a bit worse then usual...
Saying he played under duress seems to imply it was
Playing severely injury hampered players is a real peeve of mine... neither we as a club or Billings anything from that

May also explain his form tailing off after round five in 2020. It's probably been giving him hell since then.

I think it happened at the beginning of the match, I'm not sure it was a choice of anyone. My guess.

A real gutsy effort by Jack. We now know why he didn't rotate through the middle.

Ratts said it occurred in the pre-match warmup.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 23 Apr 2021 8:30pmI think it happened at the beginning of the match, I'm not sure it was a choice of anyone. My guess.
Not in the game per se
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
