Winner+margin vs Kochie's Kooks
My prediction.
Port in front at 1/2 time by a goal.
Saints wasteful, King kicking 1.3 to half-time.
Butler 2 goals in 1st qtr, no touches in 2nd qtr.
Final siren- Port by 5 goals
Steelo- Sainter of the Day.
Crouch next best with 24 touches+9 tackles
Bytel 18 touches with all of them high quality (too young to be infected with the Saints' mediocrity virus)
Port in front at 1/2 time by a goal.

Butler 2 goals in 1st qtr, no touches in 2nd qtr.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Bytel was poor last game, he’s a chance to make way for Jones.

Re: Winner+margin vs Kochie's Kooks
Jack Billings injured his plantar fascis in the warm-up prior to last week's debacle.
Ratten didn't say why he wasn't replaced with an emergency, just said it was a great effort to get thru the game.
Hunter Clark has the flu and went for a covid test just to make sure it's not the dreaded lurgy.
Darragh Joyce played in the A team in 18 v 18 match sim,
so AFL site reckons he's in the mix to get picked

That might explain his crap kicking but how do you explain his crappy handballsMickThomas wrote: ↑Thu 22 Apr 2021 5:19pm Jack Billings injured his plantar fascis in the warm-up prior to last week's debacle.
He had 14 touches ( only 6 were kicks) and managed 57% DE.
Bytel might have not found the footy much but he had the same number of effective disposals as Billings
Long (who only played half a game mind-you) won the footy 14 times with 10 possessions being kicks and he went at 71% DE
Just for comparison sake, Paul Hunter and Max King had 50% DE and Jack Lonie (although he did get 2 goals) was wasteful again with only 47% Disposal Efficiency.

There’d be 10 players the selection committee should drop before Bytel. Dunstan would top the list imo
Bytel needs games experience (he’s on the same path as Max KingI)
If we need to make room for Jones, what about giving Ross or Billings or Hill a rest

makes dunstan's 16 at 68% look thoroughly undeserving of the scorn he was subjected to by some. and his first game in over a year.Scollop wrote: ↑Thu 22 Apr 2021 6:30pmThat might explain his crap kicking but how do you explain his crappy handballsMickThomas wrote: ↑Thu 22 Apr 2021 5:19pm Jack Billings injured his plantar fascis in the warm-up prior to last week's debacle.

but i digress - bytel should definitely be kept in. a very good prospect.

They've got a few injured players out from their best 22 so we'll get a look at how deep they bat.

Now that Holler and along came Jones are in the side - Saints by 8-15 points
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Winner+margin vs Kochie's Kooks
Well...let’s just say right now he’s ahead of Gresham and Hannebery because he’s fit and available
If Hill, JB or Seb are playing sore and getting injections, then 1 or 2 of them should be rested based on their output against Richmond.
Do I think he’s better than Ross as an inside mid? Maybe not at this early stage of his career
Do I think he’s better than Billings as a high half forward? JB is elite with his disposal if allowed time and space, so if JB is fully fit he is one of our first picked.
Do I think he’s better than Hill as a wingman pushing deep into defence? Jack’s obviously not suited to that role.
Bytel has huge upside and may even prove to be a better leader than Seb Ross. He has a long way to go, but that’s how high I rate his potential. Should he be given games ahead of some senior or moe experienced players if there’s selection dilemnas? Well, that depends on how good you think our chances are to go deep into September in 2021
If we somehow get enough wins this year to make finals and we somehow have all our best available (except maybe Paton and Gresh) maybe Bytel makes way for some of the senior players...but I don’t think the top teams in Port, Tigers, West Coast, Bulldogs, Brisbane and maybe Geelong and Melbourne are all going to fall away with injuries or really poor form
