Wow..... ive got words to describe how bad we were. I am embarrassed. From an outsiders perspective it appears Coaches & players both need to rethink how to play this game

I'm not ashamed a very poor result yes but they just don't have the cattle to go with a Richmond outfit in that form. I think we tried but it was like men against boys & we could not match their level of run & commitment to a any contest, every time there was a hard ball to be won they won it every time it was a 50 - 50 they won it . Short break for us but no excuse we have along way to go .

How long have we been rebuilding for?

There is obviously discontent in the team that rapidly bubbles to the surface as soon as things go awry. Need to sort that out quick smart ( see my post about Hill)

IMO unfortunately we are not in the rebuilding stage yet but if these type of results keep coming then wow we have Hill on a 5 year contract with years 4 to go ,Haneberry on a 5 year contract with 2 years to run (& played a handful of games) & Crouch on a 5 year contract that has just started all on big coin . I don't know if we can afford a rebuild :(

Surely one of rich supporters can chip in 4 or 5 Million, so we can just f*** Hill and Hannebery off.

So are we saying the recruiters now got the trade periods wrong?!

Last year we were jacking each other off about how brilliant our trading was

We had Lethlean (who we were calling Satan for some unknown reason)
We had the best recruiting in the AFL
We had the best coach since Norm Smith
We had King
We were back at Moorabbin (training?)
We had a top 4 position in 21 sewn up!!!!

I thought we already had one hand on the cup???

Talk about premature ejaculation!!!

I think what people need to realise is right now we are not a top 8 side
We are in the pack and last year flattered us with shorter games and a soft draw in a strange chaotic year...
I do genuinely believe there are strong foundations for a good side but we now need to be ruthless at trade table
No more Hannebery deals
No more “good honest trier” types like Jones....
No more McKernan top ups
We need to target cream, skilful strong ball users who can run and spread we have to be surround Steele with some more class
Ben King if he’d play back...sets us up for a decade
Players like McKenzie not up to it move on
Lonie Seb Ross Dunstan ....we need upgrades
Lots to do yet

Can only hope that the "one step back to take two steps forward" is at play here

We got 10 days now until we take on Port in Adelaide - we should get Marshall, Ryder & Jones back

Our season starts now!!

Let face B.M it was always going to be hard gig to back up last years effort early injuries to key players didn't help & a tough draw & the weight of expectation have all taken it's toll . We need to regroup find a better way to make us competitive against quality teams not that Essendon was real quality but need a plan B when the sh-t hits the fan because ATM IMO we are in a bit trouble just need to get better & pretty quickly or the season will be over before we know it.

Don’t think our game stacks up

It would be a monumental shift to turn this mess around

Tend to agree.

Tonight’s loss was the equivalent of at least 2 losses given our shite percentage which is now only better than fellow rabble, Norf.

Not fighting it out either. Twice in 3 weeks.

Very concerning.

The fact that we are so inept without them doesn’t bode well.

Good sides can cover the loss of key men. We are nowhere near that.

There is an ‘issue’ which needs resolving. It is simply not viable to keep ignoring it.

Yeah its season over I'm afraid.
Actually, I'm not afraid. It is season over.

Massive issues with the gameplan and list pretty much.
Should start a full review right now and get a head start on 2022.

Something is very, very wrong. I'm hearing too many "stories" about four hour days and bad lifestyle choices by some players.

That’s the bit that worries me
We are picking and choosing when to play
Are just turning off in games and a big part of that is attitude
We do not look fit imo

Our pressure and attack on the Tigers was non existent, we just allowed them to do as they pleased. Akin to being bullied by a much bigger adversary, we didnt fire a shot.

There has to be something seriously amiss at the club. Whether it's the injuries eroding confidence, a lack of work in the preseason or player discontent, there is something seriously wrong.

Everytime you looked at the screen/play there were twice as many Richmond players around the contest. The only exception being when we mucked around with the ball across half back. Richmond then had time to flood back and cut off any attempt we had going forward.

Ratten backing Hill in the media after his feeble efforts this year raises concerns. Sometimes players need to be publicly called out and he missed his opportunity. I expected a loss, but to be totally non competitive highlights it's going to be a long year.

And Jones hardness at the contest, Hannebery in the centre, and Frawley down back to help Howard.

These five players will make an absolutely huge difference.
