I'm going wholesale changes
Gresham and Jones out injured, Omitted - Butler, Lonie, McKernan & McKenzie (sub)
In - Marshall & Hunter, Bytel, Long (or Webster if he's ok), Kent as HF marking target, Wood to play 3rd in a tall forward line

Re: INs and OUTs strategy for Saturday
there needs to be some reckoning in the team
King needs to find some confidence
Hill needs a wake up call
Butler needs a shake up
Whether McKernan is in or out needs to come down to whether Marshal is ready. McKernan shouldnt be a scape goat.

In: Hunter , Kent, Webster, Dunstan,

We have a short turn around for the Richmond game so will need to decide does Marshall play Sat ror Thursday , both seems a stretch.
Battle second ruck as had been exposed on the wing last 2 weeks.

HB: Webster, Carlisle, Clark
C: Hill, Steele, Billings
HF: HIggins, Membrey, Wood
f: Kent, King, Lonie
Foll: Hunter, Crouch, Ross
Int: Dunstan, Butler, Sinclair, Battle
Sub: McKenzie

Re: INs and OUTs strategy for Saturday
In: Richo returning as director of coaching and the return of hard, relentless footy and the development of young players once again - and Battle back to CHB, etc... Ratts to receive much-needed help and guidance/direction from above.
Out: Softness, laziness, mollycoddling.
Just kidding (apart from Battle back to CHB, to settle and get his development back on track) ... coaches are all as useless as one other, afaic.
I'd prefer Steele as playing-coach!

Re: INs and OUTs strategy for Saturday
A fall over the line win, followed by a poor performance, followed by pathetic performance should mean a few players get the chop. Those who are not up to scratch with basic footy requirements -tackling, contested ball, marking etc should be worried.

However, past experience indicates “no worries” in the Saints’ favourites love-in selection process

Out. Long bombs to the top of the square.
Out. Long bombs into F50.
Out. Long bombs down the wings.
Out. Long bombs out of D50.
Out. Long hack kicks after winning centre clearance.
Out. Coaches if they don't plan to instruct to cease the long bombs.
In. Running game around the stand/mark.
In. Running game delivering into F50 to targets leading to the footy or leading into space.
In. Low hard kicks to mids who then take off.
In. The Peter Moody principle. Let fast horses run fast.
In. Coaches earning their money.

Only Billings, Steele, Higgins, Carlisle and Membrey should be safe from last week, but in saying that I don’t have the faith in Ratten to have the balls to make the big calls.

You seem to be blaming Long for a lot of our problems.SaintDippa wrote: ↑Tue 06 Apr 2021 5:51pm Out. Long bombs to the top of the square.

Re: INs and OUTs strategy for Saturday
Ins: Marshall, Kent, Bytel
Out: McKernan, Lonie or Butler, Gresham
Its time for Battle to return to defence CHB and match up on Darling.
Howard on Kennedy.
McKenzie on Ryan.
Wilkie on Allen.
Marshall to ruck changing with Carlilse forward. Both to take McGovern and keep him accountable when forward.

Re: INs and OUTs strategy for Saturday
My guess, it'll just be Marshall and Bytel. If Webster's fit, he'll come in for DMac. Dunstan is the forgotten man. Whatever else, always plays for the jumper - but stuck in the twos.
