Dean Kent and Dunny sound like they are right up in the grille for selection.

Hard to know who will be out for King?

Jones will come in for DMac

Maybe Bytel to Sub and Wood out for King

Battle to the Wing

Or do they omit McKernan?

Agree with the players mentioned in the article though am surprised that Mason Wood didn’t get a mention. Ratten was on the record that he was only changed for McKenzie due to the conditions.

Structurally McKernan might be important.

They would have trained all summer with a resting ruckman forward.

Here's a heresy thought: Jones is not an automatic in. The men that won on Saturday deserve to be rewarded. Jones needs to develop consistent fitness.
McKernan assigned to sacrifice his game to keep Lever honest and ruck in fwd line; Hunter elsewhere. Then again, Battle might play on Lever and that would give Jake sleepless nights - not as much fun as swanning around loose in defence against clueless Freo.
Yet to assign someone to bite Gawn's ankles all day but thinking on it.

We need to counter there inside Mids who will get first look as Gawn gives them an armchair ride

Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Brayshaw
Vs
Steele, Jones, Gresham, Ross, Clark

Could we bring in Dunstan to add to the group?

I believe we have to play both Hunter & McKernan. Both displayed they played better at Marvel vs Carlton.

How exciting will it be if we ever get a full list to chose from this year (excluding Paton).

Still to come in King, Jones, Crouch, Ryder, Marshall & Hannebrey included thats top 4 territory without doubt. The only position still in question would be CHB eg Highmore, Carlisle, Clavarino or Joyce.

Whilst I agree that Jones should not be an automatic, he seems better than Bytel. Jones's fitness cannot be improved. He will be consistently prone to hamstring issues from now on. Just play him 'til it goes 'twang' again. There is no cure for it, unless he runs at 70% and then he is no longer better than Bytel. In fact, he would fall behind Dunstan IMO.

Gawn is not in great form they say, but if our rucks are pensive on the back of instructions to avoid the free kick fiasco, he might juts have a field day and run into form.

Come on Saints. Please keep running. Don't bomb to King.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

This isn't the under 15s. The only intention is to win.

Play the best players available according to the conditions and match strategy.

End of story.

Yeah makes sense to go with the strategy that accepts we lose the ruck contest and give the Dees first hands.
