With some ham off the bone.
In Springfield, they are eating the dogs. The people that came in, they are eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Fried chips
Frawley was a bonus to put pressure on Carlisle. Hopefully Carlisle can step up as our depth is really going to be tested this year.

Re: Fried chips
Carlisle was obviously on the outer
Probably still is, don’t be surprised if Highmore gets the gig

Re: Fried chips
I don't think he would have been offered a contract if he was on the outer.
He would have had too many clubs beat down his door to sign him if we didn't want him. We clearly wanted him and he clearly wanted to stay.

Re: Fried chips
Chips was apparently on board before Carlisle signed. You don't build team unity by playing your two most experienced players against each other.
This club now has a 30 man squad capable of covering itself in most injury losses. Practice matches dont mean s***.
If Carlisle took a while to nut out details and lost $100k or so from the $650 he was reportedly on last year, his $100k loss went a long way to paying for Highmore and a few bucks for Chips, but no Coke. Crouch got the money for Coke. Lol
Nevertheless, Carlisle and Howard would be the money men in the backline and if so, they should be playing.
Chips was a chance, now he is not. Carlisle doesn't need practice matches. He proved himself coming back from the surgery. He proved himself again last year again, after a lapse.
Highmore can dominate CHB at Sandy for a while first. Unless the match ups require a more mobile defender.

Re: Fried chips
I'm still guessing he got paid more than Highmore and Frawley combined, for a very good reason. He is better than both of them, particularly for the next 10 weeks.
What now, Battle to the backline again?

Re: Fried chips
What happened to "hamstring = 2 weeks".
If he doesn't need surgery then he didn't rip off the bone or tear it in half.
It must be a partial.
There must be some strands still where they should be.

Re: Fried chips
wasn't he injured last year too?
Re-injury.
I suspect - in my deathly ghoul cloak - that he won't play for us. A total bust. 10 weeks. 32 years old. How can he get the kind of match fitness mid-season? He might be like the Carlton bloke, who was given a ceremonial game at the end of the season.
Carlisle wasn't picked in the starting line-up at the beginning on '20, remember?
What about those other forgotten talls?

Re: Fried chips
No, but I do feel a sense of scorched earth lately.
Exercise helps. Swimming.
Hannas, Zac, Crouch, Chips...we don’t mind sponsoring the ham industry. I thought that was Essendon’s thing..Don meats etc.
Seriously though, I hope he plays, not just this year, but for two more.
No social media see. That’s the problem.
