Re: Marshall injury
Not good news for the big man or the saints.
I think I'll stop logging in here as every time I do I see another injury report.

Re: Marshall injury
After having a pretty good run with injuries last year, we’re certainly headed back to ‘usual programming’ it would seem!

Re: Marshall injury
So the club has said that there’s no actual fracture in his foot
Saying they caught it developing super early and have benched him

Re: Marshall injury
You mean pre-season or season proper?
We are still ages away...five weeks until the first game?
How many are gonna be done then?
Jones will be Ok?
Hanners?
Marshall?
Who else?
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Marshall injury
Just looked at Dr Google and their best case is 12 weeks, hopefully he is not that long. He is the one unique player we dont have a backup for. McKernan is the closest but has no where the impact of Roma.

Re: Marshall injury
We'd better sign that bloke from Adelaide, Paul Hunter.
He looks like a proper ruckman, Wood & McKernan are more foward/ruck types

Re: Marshall injury
We don't play until March 21st.
If it's not a fracture he could be right for that. It's over a month away.

Re: Marshall injury
Marshall is 4 weeks off legs
Would need 2-3 weeks full training after that
He is a minimum of 7 weeks away or R3 more likely R4

Re: Marshall injury
With a stress fracture of the foot?
That foot has to lug 100kg around a footy ground!

Re: Marshall injury
Paddy as number one ruck with McKernan as a forward/ruck will do while he is convalescing.

Re: Marshall injury
Footware issue (not NB of course)? Work load for his size? Inherent weakness? Need to reconsider the demands of ruck and fwd? We really should look after our most important player. Shocking for such a young guy, one potentially on the verge of greatness. Will make us 2 - 3 goals lesser side each week he is not in team and properly fit. Game plan will need reworking.

Re: Marshall injury
He’s about as key a player as we have, so it’s not ideal.
More concerned about what his absence will do to our forward structure than the ruck. (We probably have enough midfield class now to remain competitive even if our rucks are merely competitive).
Maybe Battle plays CHF until RoMa is ready

Re: Marshall injury
Ok now I'm starting to worry, I've been saying all pre season we are capable of improving on last season's performance if we have some luck with injury.
Luck is a key ingredient with this brutal game huh...

Re: Marshall injury
Marshall's unavailability for Rd 1 against GWS is countered by them losing Preuss who was expected to be in their best 22, but could be costly against Melbourne in Rd 2 and Eagles in Rd 4 if he takes that long to recover.
